True Food Kitchen is a chef-driven restaurant and scratch bar that was founded by Dr. Andrew Weil, the pioneer of integrative medicine, to provide food that tastes great and is good for you. The Food is Always Delicious the Service was poor. It was Cold in both places we were seated . The Bathroom was Freezing. I ordered desert and my waitress Ashley joined a Group with the manger and was eating food while talking with him. I asked someone else to bring my cake. I showed her a bug on my table and had to remind her to tell the manager . He dashed into the bathroom looking at his phone. The dead bug still on table. True Kitchen has Changed. Unfortunate because it's a lovely Space ( Now Freezing) with Good food & Poor service.

The food was good! Our server was amazing as well, I definitely recommend the oatmilk horchata matcha, it was my favorite part of the meal!

Went in with a group of 12. Every single bite of every dish was delicious and every drink was right up there with the food.highly recommend

We really love TrueFood and try to eat there often even though there is not a location near us. Sometimes though we are disappointed with the service. It sometimes takes a long time for a server to take orders or they don’t check back until it’s too late to make a request. Yesterday however in downtown Chicago the service and food were outstanding.

I have been a frequent guest since they opened. I am gluten free and it’s nice to go somewhere with multiple options; however the food quality has gone downhill. It is now OK but not great.

Nothing really changes at True Food Chicago. Only this visit was worse than previous visits. The edamame dumplings were tepid; nowhere hot or even warm. The dry meatloaf was atop a bed of burned/charred/half-cooked vegetables and the presentation looked as if was carelessly plated, which it was. Service? Awful. It started OK and then, the waitperson completely disappeared. Twenty minutes after finishing the meatloaf, I flagged down a different waitperson to order desert. The flourless chocolate cake arrived visibly singed, over-loaded with caramel sauce, and at room temperature. I sent it back. The replacement was 15 mins in coming and also singed. I was done. I asked for the check and I was gone. Disappointing visit but this seems to the standard at TFK Chicago.

So good!!! We split the Brussels sprouts, kale salad and roasted butternut squash pizza. Everything was delicious and I’d order it all again. Our server was great - personable and attentive!
