True Food Kitchen is a chef-driven restaurant and scratch bar that was founded by Dr. Andrew Weil, the pioneer of integrative medicine, to provide food that tastes great and is good for you. I ordered a turkey burger. I was sent a chicken patty with cold sweet potatoes. I sent it back. I ordered a steak which was uncut table. I thought the steak was tough and overcooked. This was not a grass fed tenderloin. I was starving and didn’t want to wait another 45 minutes for yet another meal. I could barely cut the steak or chew it. There was no manager on duty. It took quite a while to cut and eat tough overcooked meat. This was not a tenderloin but some other tough meat.

My meal and my wife’s meal (parang curry bowl and Korean noodle bowl) were missing ingredients that were supposed to be in there. In her case they told us they ran out only after we asked. I didn’t bother with mine, which was missing two items. My bowl was basically a soup because it had so little rice or substance. They didn’t skimp on the shrimp though - that was a healthy portion and worthwhile. The new chicken tenders (and all the air fried stuff) was very tasty. Stick to apps and burgers/pizzas.

We went here to celebrate my birthday with my kids and mother. Everything was delicious and really loved that there were so many Gluten free and clearer options available.

I recently dined at True Food Kitchen in the Boca Town Center Mall and had a mixed experience. The quality of the food was good — definitely the highlight of the visit. However, the overall experience fell short. The restaurant itself felt worn down and in need of a refresh. Additionally, I gave my name and number to the hostess to be notified when a table was ready, but I never received a text. After waiting for a while, I decided to make a reservation on OpenTable instead, which was frustrating. Once seated, I noticed that the table next to us hadn’t been cleared for quite some time, so we were left staring at dirty plates during our meal. Additionally, when I went to the bathroom, there were no paper towels, which only added to the sense that the place isn’t being maintained properly. Our server was polite but not very attentive, which detracted from the overall experience. While the food itself was good, I hope management addresses these operational and maintenance issues to create a more enjoyable dining environment.
