True Chesapeake is a fine dining restaurant born of an oyster farm. Executive Chef Zack Mills creates a seasonal menu that showcases oysters from our far St. Jerome’s Creek, Southern Maryland — raw, roasted, and in signature dishes like Classic Rockefeller and Semolina Fried Oysters. But, the oysters are just the beginning. Our award winning menu celebrates the bounty of the Chesapeake region by using locally sourced seafood, meat, and produce to create exquisite dishes that evolve with the seasons. Chef Mills has been featured extensively for his use of invasive seafood species, a very delicious way to help the Chesapeake Bay. Don't forget to order the Blue Crab and Bone Marrow dip or handmade pasta. We have an expertly curated wine list, beer selection, and cocktails - both classic and creative. Ample bar, high-top, and terrace seating available for walk-ins on a first-come-first-serve basis.

I love eating here. The ambience is always nice. It’s never too crowded and the food is always super fresh. We ordered The Chef, The Shucker, and The Farmer; it was amazing. The broth that the seafood was steamed in was extremely flavorful and not your standard old bay broth. It’s the perfect size to share between 2 people. It had more of a cajun vibe to it. The Blue Crab Mac & Cheese was good too. For drinks, I had the Figgy Smalls it’s very refreshing. I love this place so I’ll definitely be back.

Dine with True Chesapeake for my partner's 40th birthday. It was a great time- the drinks were outstanding, the food was great, service was spot on. For what we ordered and the two hours we where there, the bill was reasonable as well. The oysters were excellent and the notes in the menu were very helpful. The bone marrow and crab appetizer was excellent and my scallops were perfectly done. The venue is beautiful and parking was easy and free. It was very quiet and only lightly filled when we arrived, but as more people sat down, the volume level never became notable or overwhelming. We will be back for the Happy Hour specials and hope to make one of the special events. The menu includes mocktails, and I want to thank True Chesapeake for giving the same respect to those drinks as the usual bar service.

Unfortunately a missed opportunity. Outstanding food. But service not in the same league. We’ll be back in 5 years to check on progress. In the meantime so many other great restaurants to check out. Go Baltimore!

I’ve been here four times and each dinner was delicious and beautifully plated. The menu offers food in every category and changes seasonally so there is always something intriguing to try 🤗. The restaurant is within a beautifully restored mill dating to the late 1700’s, located along the Jones Falls. I find the interior space to be beautifully designed and welcoming. It has a relaxing vibe. There is also a small outdoor dining space with bar for a more casual meal. Service was well informed and attentive without appearing intrusive.
