True Chesapeake is a fine dining restaurant born of an oyster farm. Executive Chef Zack Mills creates a seasonal menu that showcases oysters from our far St. Jerome’s Creek, Southern Maryland — raw, roasted, and in signature dishes like Classic Rockefeller and Semolina Fried Oysters. But, the oysters are just the beginning. Our award winning menu celebrates the bounty of the Chesapeake region by using locally sourced seafood, meat, and produce to create exquisite dishes that evolve with the seasons. Chef Mills has been featured extensively for his use of invasive seafood species, a very delicious way to help the Chesapeake Bay. Don't forget to order the Blue Crab and Bone Marrow dip or handmade pasta. We have an expertly curated wine list, beer selection, and cocktails - both classic and creative. Ample bar, high-top, and terrace seating available for walk-ins on a first-come-first-serve basis.

One of my favorite restaurants and continued to live up to its delicious reputation. Philip and Maddie were lovely and took great care of us! One of the best places to go for a date night.

Bone marrow crab dip with grilled bread is the best take on crab dip ever. Perfect starter. Something as simple as market green salad is fabulous there

Had a great experience at True Chesapeake. Seated promptly, cocktails were unique and delicious. Beet salad was the perfect combination of flavor, texture, and appearance. Skinny dipper raw oysters were excellent. We always get the Chef, Shucker, Farmer and it is such a terrific meal - hot, perfectly cooked seafood in a savory broth that is more than enough for two. Servers were attentive and professional. We had a wonderful time.

We came w college friends for a Sunday night casual dinner so it was a guaranteed good time. However, it was immediately apparent that the happy hour crowd was the priority - not the dining room. 2.5 hours for oyster apps and dinner - no dessert. Server was pleasant and overwhelmed/understaffed. Food was meh, although the oysters were wonderfully fresh. Unfortunately, this was most likely a one and done for us.

Been here several times, and the food is always great (although my dessert, a simple scoop of vanilla ice cream, had freezer burn and was inedible). Service is always spotty, but not enough to ruin the evening. Would love to see the menu continue to evolve, as it is unchanged from a year ago as far as I can tell.

I love eating here. The ambience is always nice. It’s never too crowded and the food is always super fresh. We ordered The Chef, The Shucker, and The Farmer; it was amazing. The broth that the seafood was steamed in was extremely flavorful and not your standard old bay broth. It’s the perfect size to share between 2 people. It had more of a cajun vibe to it. The Blue Crab Mac & Cheese was good too. For drinks, I had the Figgy Smalls it’s very refreshing. I love this place so I’ll definitely be back.
