Depuis son ouverture en mai 2006, le Treadwell est devenu l'un des restaurants les plus réputés du Canada. Il est situé à Niagara-on-the-Lake et sa philosophie « de la ferme à la table » permet au chef et propriétaire Stephen Treadwell de mettre en valeur les meilleurs produits de saison de Niagara et du Sud-ouest de l'Ontario.     Yesterday, we had a date night at Treadwell to celebrate my birthday, but the service made the experience truly disappointing. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of our waitress; she was middle-aged with brown hair in a ponytail. My husband is a man of color, and it was clear that she discriminated against us. She provided terrible service, not even asking us what we would like to drink. When we requested a wine tasting, she completely ignored us throughout our dinner, all while being exceptionally nice to other patrons who were white. Later, a gentleman named James came over to apologize. The foie gras was horrible, but the waitress didn't seem to care, and James's solution was to deduct $10 from our $500 bill. Honestly, for someone paying a $500 bill, a $10 deduction feels like a token gesture at best. Or mocking I don’t know!!!! Begging of of the dinner they gave told as that it’s gonna be half Canadian half international wines, we got only Canadian I will never return to Treadwell and cannot recommend it to anyone. This experience ruined what should have been a special birthday date.

    The food was fabulous. The service was friendly and not rushed which is how we like it. Although the first wine pairing was not what we would have picked, the other 3 were excellent. Overall a wonderful experience.

    The counter seating is the best seat in the house. The food is delicious with menu items for everyone regardless of dietary restrictions given that everything is made fresh. The wine list is outstanding as is the service.

    Food was excellent. I had the mussels and the special salad - peach, tomato, mozzarella. Would definitely go back.

    Food was perfection. Atmosphere was great. Our server was absolutely fantastic! Looking forward to a return visit soon.

    We were very impressed with the level of quality and excellence in the food presented. Loved the tuna with olive oil, yuzu juice and capers - then thoroughly enjoyed the zucchini blossoms dish and the filet with wild mushrooms was superb. Our waiter was excellent - attentive, very knowledgeable about the food and wine - and pleasant to engage with! Thank you and we will be back soon!

    We sat on the lovely patio. The the 4 course dinner was delicious and beautiful. It provided impressive choices, including gluten-free. The service was attentive and unobtrusive. We would gleefully return. Note: Open table reported tip and taxes were included for the price, the restaurant reported otherwise. This needs to be a consistent message to avoid confusion.

    We had a reservation. We needed to change it from 1:45 pm to 1:00 pm, due to a change in plans. Although very busy in the tourist season, Treadwell was able to accommodate us in a timely manner. As usual the food was delicious. My wife had the Tagliatelle and I had the lobster club. Both were yummy.
