Trani’s Dockside, is a new waterside restaurant launched by one of the port town’s best known restaurant families. The restaurant was able to hold a soft grand opening on May 16, the 98th anniversary of the opening of the original Trani’s Majestic Cafe that opened in 1925 in downtown San Pedro.

I’ve been several times and have never been disappointed. The menu interesting, the food is fresh and the craft cocktails are exceptional. Sometimes the service is slow but I like not feeling rushed!

Phenomenal dining experience. Very eclectic menu, food and cocktails were excellent and the server, Amanda, was extremely helpful in offering suggestions on items to order and the appropriate amount to order. Very enjoyable dining experience. Will be back for sure!

Hello. Experience was great. It was super busy, which provided ambiance, but we had a long wait, even with reservations. Great food and atmosphere.

Excellent food and good cocktails. Lovely decor, comfortable, nice atmosphere. Appreciate the attentive, but not rushed service.

Wow this is a gem in South Bay, I never knew we about this place until someone posted scout it fb. Now I’m gonna out my full experience on Yelp! Love this place

This was our first time here and what a pleasant surprise it was. Jen was our server and she was excellent. She verified it was our first time here and took the time to explain the menu in very helpful detail. We started with le petit barachois oysters. Kumamotos have long been our favorite hands down, until now. Wow. These were salty, briny and packed with flavor. We also had some blue fin fresh tuna with a house made Thai strawberry ponzu sauce. It’s was exceptional. For entrees we chose the swordfish and mushroom gnocchi—both were excellent. Jen then talked us into 2 desserts and an expresso martini—what a great finish. Thank you Jen. Thank you Tranis Dockside. We will be back!

I read all of the great reviews on Open Table and heard it was a must to come here. We arrived early and sat at the bar. I had been wanting to try Trani’s Dockside for quite a while. The ONLY reason for my rating is due to the bartender. Had I known we would have encountered horrible bar service, we wouldn’t have had drinks at the bar to start. To further explain the issue, here is what took place. We sat at the bar. It took a while before the girl with the neck tattoos decided to come over. She took our order and then proceeded to have conversations with other servers and people. After what felt like forever, which was just 12 full minutes, she came back to introduce herself as our server and once again take our order. It was only two drinks. How hard was that? I am all for enjoying your job. And by all means, please do, but customers are the reason for any establishment. After ANOTHER six minutes passed of her neglecting us, she came back AGAIN to introduce herself as if she didn’t just do that two previous times smh. Thankfully, our table was ready and we sat at our table. The food and service was great at our table.It was very hard to give the review I had because the food and service from our table was amazing …. but the blatant disrespect at the bar kept us from enjoying our date night. I would have expressed this to the manager, but from all the friendly laughing and chatter they both had, they were clearly friends and my complaint would have just fallen on deaf ears. We do plan on coming back but I won’t be sitting at the bar if that girl is working on that day.

Went for my birthday. We were a bit overdressed for the after work local crowd. The food outstanding- we sampled the calamari, the French fries, the slab (aka wedge salad), Brussels sprouts, broccolini, halibut, pork chop and chicken parm - all delicious no complaints. The style of the restaurant is modern and clean lines. I wasn’t thrilled with our table location right behind the hostess stand as I had a close up view of many people’s backsides crowding the bar like table having drinks and watching the game. Staff was fast, responsive, and knowledgeable about the menu and patient with questions. My main complaint was the noise level.
