Terra restaurant is located at Tottington Manor which is beautifully situated in the South Downs National Park with hillside and farmland views, yet it is just 10 minutes from the A23 at Pyecombe and the A27 at Shoreham.

With a menu showcasing the best of local ingredients cooked fresh each day by our team of chefs, you can enjoy dinner in the restaurant, or outside on our decking, or in winter time, choose our more relaxed fire side Olive Restaurant.

In addition we have a number of private dining options available from 6 to 95.

Our South Downs Suite is completely separate with its own private garden, stretch tent and bar and is ideal for family celebrations, parties and of course Weddings. We enjoyed our Xmas Eve lunch, service and ambience great, food was good, particularly the desserts - bit disappointed with my gluten free yorkshire puddings which were a bit dense and stodgy. I make them at home so I know they can be light and fluffy, however I was pleased to be offered them at all as many restaurants don’t. Drinks are a little more expensive here than you might expect but extensive choice. Overall experience was very good, love the location at the foot of the downs, and look forward to a return visit.

Ambience is good, but attention to detail was lacking. Three of our five meals were missing items, bubble and squeak from the gammon dish and the cranberry relish from the chicken burger making it very dry. This was corrected once we pointed it out to the staff, but poor service and sadly not the first time I've had to check and correct what was on my plate. Also the order was put through incorrectly and the bill was wrong by £40 overcharged. Such a shame as the place has such great potential and I want to like it more, but it just seems to fail to deliver what it promises.

Dear Melanie, Happy Boxing Day. You are right and the elements of the dishes you ordered should have been right and our Exec Chef on the pass apologises as this was a genuine oversight. I understand the dishes were rectified quickly and apologies given. We changed our Menu just for Christmas Eve and this caused a moment of error on the pass. I am sorry that your order was added incorrectly on our till and I am glad it was adjusted but can appreciate the annoyance caused at the table. It is not our intention to overcharge anyone and again, the change of Menu just for Christmas Eve was possibly the cause. I am glad this was rectified. We assure you that we take the delivery of our service and food quality promises very seriously and we hope you return to experience the Tottington way.

The food and service was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. They made my boyfriend feel so special on his birthday! We will definitely be back.

Another lovely meal at Tottington. The decorations are beautiful and the restaurant looked amazing!! As usual the staff were considerate and helpful, even though they were run off their feet. Thank you.

Excellent meal in Christmassy surroundings. Attentive staff who were very apologetic over a delayed dessert due to technical difficulties in the kitchen. We would definitely recommend them and plan to return (regularly!).

We had afternoon tea in the Olive Lounge. Excellent service and a lovely cosy area, very informal. Staff were really helpful, would highly recommend.

Fabulous food, as always. Absolutely love this restaurant, staff are always very attentive and allow us to take our time to enjoy our delicious lunch. Very relaxed atmosphere, would thoroughly recommend.

Very enjoyable Sunday afternoon spent at Terra. Staff were lovelyl, roast dinner was superb and atmosphere was wonderful. We will definitely be returning.
