We had another lovely dinner at Toscano. The chicken parmigiana was the best I had ever had and the service was fantastic as usual.

I’ve heard nothing but wonderful reviews of Toscano’s. Unfortunately, my experience did not live up to these expectations. First off, the service was quite slow. Secondly, me and my significant other got two appetizers. The pasta dish was okay, but not worth the price. The eggplant was not only mushy and overcooked, but was presented disastrously. Next, we got our main courses. I ordered a filet mignon cooked medium for nearly $50. The cut of steak was questionable and was essentially raw with a purple center. We left the restaurant not only disappointed, but feeling queasy from how unappetizing the food was. Hopefully our experience was an oddity, but take caution when dining here. You may leave dissatisfied as we did and might have to get fast food afterwards.

Lovely meal in Harvard Sq. They even gave us Tiramisu on the house for our anniversary !

Since the last time eating at Toscano, when I really liked this restaurant, I was disappointed last night. The appetizer of baked eggplant and tomato was good but we had to ask our server for a spoon to serve it with. We sat at the window, as requested, but it was still very loud and hard to hear. Why do restaurants think that wood and stone floors are a good idea? I know carpets are hard to clean but they would help to muffle the noise. The special I ordered--a seafood combo of shrimp, scallop and salmon-- was disappointing: the fish was overcooked and tough. My friend had halibut and loved the sauce, however. It was fairly expensive (about $180 for two of us--maybe average?), but I would not go back. There are other places where I prefer.

Excellent food and service as always! A cleaner knife should be offered for the main course after the appetizer dishes without asking for it.
