Very good service and excellent food. A great night to spend our 1 year anniversary! Our server Val was excellent! Props to them.

Not one to write reviews, whether experience is good or bad, but I will take some time to write one for this occasion. We reserved a table for 8 to celebrate an engagement. For what Toro Toro claims to be, the service was disappointing. He didn’t go around asking each person for drinks, waters were not filled unless we requested, he didn’t follow up to check upon our appetizers after the were brought to our table, no second drink requests as he never came to check on us. Entree took an unreasonable time to be brought out to our table, had to get up to ask for water refills, just overall disappointing. I’m frequent higher end restaurant and have an expectation of service, and this was not it. Even your traditional mid-end restaurants can provide better service. I typically tip more than 20% and that’s never an issue for me, but applying a 20% gratuity on our check was a little upsetting as the service did not deserve that. For how much you will spend here, there are numerous options in the area where you can go somewhere and be provided the experience you deserve. I would advise to reconsider choosing this location to celebrate big milestones or to simply enjoy a nice dinner with friends/family.

I made a reservation for two people, 5 weeks in advance for my son and his pregnant wife to celebrate his birthday on the way to a show at Bass Hall. The food was very good. However, they were seated at high table top that was very uncomfortable, especially for an expectant mother. There was no place for coat or hat and was overall not a comfortable seating experience. My son was embarrassed to eat dinner wearing a hat but didn’t have a place to keep it. I thought 5 weeks was enough to secure a nice reservation at a pricey locale, but that part of the service was very disappointing.

fyi...the restaurant applies a 20% service fee to all checks. It would have been nice if our server had pointed that out. I'm happy to tip 20% but 40% is a bit outrageous

Boring and overpriced. We went for Sunday brunch because it was advertised as having Latin DJ and we thought it sounded fun. DJ never showed up and it was dull and mediocre.

For the price the food is not worth it. They gave us a table that was in the lobby. Would have been preferred to sit inside.

I participated in restaurant week and ordered the enchiladas and I didn’t like them and they brought me the steak instead because they wanted to make sure I enjoyed my experience and the steak was amazing! You have a I’m on vacation experience when you dine at Toro Toro.

From the moment we arrived, we felt special. Everyone treated us with kindness and definitely made us feel like we were valued guests. We were there for restaurant week and the menu was incredible. We also ordered the Sweet Corn empanadas and had the Maria Pickford sour for our cocktails. Everything was incredible! Vanessa was our server. What a gem!!!
