Ever since Tops Diner was established in 1942, our focus has always been to serve what our customers want, exactly when and how they want it. As the American dining culture shifts, we recognize we must strive to recreate the 1920’s renaissance that birthed the diner as we know it today, all the while preserving the historical and cultural identity that made Tops Diner the model all others hope to emulate.

By constantly evolving, we ensure our ability to provide a diverse menu of high quality options with the speed of service we’ve all become accustomed to, providing the uniquely satisfying experience synonymous with the Tops Diner name. Our hope is that we can grow as our clients do, and continue to serve both our Newark family, and our community at large.

    My daughter and I have driven by Tops for years. The parking lot is always jam packed. My daughter's Christmas wish was to finally eat there. It was so worth it! The food was delicious and arrived very quickly. The portions were huge but we loved enjoying the leftovers at home. We will definitely be back!! Reservations are recommended as they fill up fast and you'd hate to be turned away.

    Heard about Top on the internet and finally got to go. It did not disappoint. Atmosphere food and service was great. Shout out to Billy who was our server.

    I have visited Tops Diner several times, always ordered different menu items, except today. I went there for breakfast for the first time. The breakfast potatoes are not it. They were dry and without seasoning. Well, one dish out of 20 (so far) is not too bad. lol

    Our server Billy was attentive and was always aware of our needs I strongly recommend you ask for his service. He made sure our drinks were refilled even without asking, he made suggestions about what would be a good pairing with our entrees.
