Ever since Tops Diner was established in 1942, our focus has always been to serve what our customers want, exactly when and how they want it. As the American dining culture shifts, we recognize we must strive to recreate the 1920’s renaissance that birthed the diner as we know it today, all the while preserving the historical and cultural identity that made Tops Diner the model all others hope to emulate.

By constantly evolving, we ensure our ability to provide a diverse menu of high quality options with the speed of service we’ve all become accustomed to, providing the uniquely satisfying experience synonymous with the Tops Diner name. Our hope is that we can grow as our clients do, and continue to serve both our Newark family, and our community at large.

    Food is very good, but quite pricey for what it is. Service was excellent, our server was extremely nice and attentive. The noise level of both the music and other patrons was so high that it made it impossible to talk and much less enjoyable a night. We like coming to Tops but sadly do not think we will return because it was so loud we both left with a headache and took the rest of our meal home.

    Best service, delicious food, generous portions and very lively. Can’t recommend enough. Definitely try the tres leches for dessert - amazing!

    Tops never disappoints! I had. A great time, everything was Top ( pun intended) tier lol. They were accommodating when I had a few guest cancel last minute. They sang me happy birthday with a plate full of beignets 🤤. It was great!! It always a good time at Tops Diner

    Food was excellent as usual. Had strip steak and fried chicken. Desserts were bread pudding and banana pudding. Excellent as well.
