Top Hatters Kitchen and Bar is a modern neighborhood restaurant, that has secured a place on the SF Chronicle's top 100 list and has been honored with a Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition. We serve an eclectic mix of rustic made-from-scratch dishes, celebrating the wonderful textures that make up our neighborhoods. We offer a mingling of small and large plates, meant to be shared, always nuanced and inspired by what we harvest from our neighboring small farms. Our food is approachable, eschewing complicated names, and bohemian in spirit as we are nonconforming and unconventional—sophisticated only in the way we can weave different ethnic influences and ingredients together.

    I love this restaurant, but watch out when you make reservations for evenings when there is a special Prix Fixe menu. We went on Valentine's Day and did not realize all the prices were doubled.

    The staff were great and meals were delicious. I didn’t realize that they only had a prix fixe meal at $200.00 which was a little steep for the food that was served. Other than that I would definitely come back.

    Bartender Marco was our capable & enthusiastic server as our party of 2 dined at corner seats of the bar. We loved our Manhattan & Whiskey Sour. We opted to order one item at a time & share. Savory Bacon Donuts are a must to start. We went whole hog that night by also indulging in the Rolled Pork Belly on Peasant Rice with Pea Shoots (huge serving). Also had the Oxtail with Grits. Loved it all. Next time plan to have seafood & save room for dessert donuts.

    Another lovely visit to Top Hatter! I love how every experience here brings a new combination of tastes, smells and atmosphere. Staff is always so welcoming!

    I recently dined at Tophatter Restaurant and had a fairly pleasant experience. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, with a charming rustic decor. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that our needs were met throughout the meal. The menu offered a decent variety of dishes, catering to different tastes and dietary preferences. While the food was generally good, there were a few minor hiccups. The appetizers took a bit longer to arrive than expected, and the dessert options were somewhat limited. However, the overall quality of the meal made up for these small inconveniences. In terms of pricing, Tophatter Restaurant is reasonably priced for the quality of food and service provided.
