The food was wonderful! We had the burrata special appetizer, which was great! For mains, the chicken parmigiana was cooked perfectly with delicious pomodoro sauce, the meatballs were world class, very light and flavorful. The staff were very attentive and went above and beyond to make our meal special. This restaurant is a great non-resort option and we will definitely be back before we leave the island.

We dined at Tonino’s on Tuesday night, we were happy to get in because of the limited availability. The food was excellent especially the meatballs! The wait staff were very attentive and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for a authentic Italian restaurant on your vacation in the Bahamas. The family run business is a great spot and a must visit!!

Sorry for your experience, although we are very big on cleanliness at our restaurant, we cannot control what goes on with the neighboring businesses and given we are on an active road and side street in the Bahamas, we cannot control that either. We are happy to hear you enjoyed the food.

Special buratta salad was very good. Frozen pizza has a huge edge on what they served here. The best thing about the calamari was it was deep fried. The restaurant is open to the main road and sitting on the terrace puts you at risk of being killed by an errant vehicle. Loud traffic noise. Truly do not understand the reviews after experiencing several other restaurants with similar ratings.

Greeted nicely and seated at one of the 4 indoor tables. We quickly moved outdoor as it was breezy and indoors had no air flow. Pizza for an appetizer was excellent. Then dinner arrived. Overall the food was good. The salad portions were more like an appetizer but at a dinner price. Here’s the 1 problem we had - ordered the $14 arugula salad and asked for grilled salmon on top. Chicken and shrimp were offered as an addional charge of $8 and $10 respectively. Our waiter said he’d have to check with management about adding salmon AND has to check the price. When he didn’t come back I assumed the owner said ok and the price would be a bit higher than the chicken and shrimp. Bill arrived and they charged me $14 for the salad and an additional $34 for the salmon!!! Same price as a full salmon dinner. I didn’t wanna make a scene as there was only one waiter working the entire restaurant, so I left it alone. But clearly we were “tourists” taken advantage of.

The food was fantastic. Best Barrata I have had since visiting Italy 10 years ago. The music level was a little high, but overall a lovely evening.

I had quite the mixed experience. The atmosphere and staff are the highlights - both are absolutely fantastic. Very welcoming and the place has a lovely vibe. However, the food was a hit or miss. I ordered the Carbonara and Fried Mozzarella, which unfortunately didn't meet expectations. The Carbonara was overly salty, lacking in flavor, and the Fried Mozzarella was too oily, with a breading that tasted off, as if it was fried in old seafood oil. On the other hand, my boyfriend's Spaghetti and Meatballs was pretty good, deserving a 7.5/10 for its taste and quality. While the service and ambiance are top-notch, my meal was a letdown, warranting a 1/10 from me. It's disappointing because there's clear potential. Despite the great service and atmosphere, I'm hesitant to return due to the inconsistency in the food quality. Hopefully, this feedback helps!
