We named Tom’s Town Distilling Co. after the country’s most corrupt political boss, Tom Pendergast. Pendergast started as a saloon keeper and the founder of a wholesale liquor company.

Under Tom, Kansas City ignored Prohibition and emerged as the “Paris of the Plains.” Money, jazz, and spirits flowed in the open. When asked how he justified ignoring Prohibition, Pendergast quipped, “The people are thirsty.”

Today the people are still thirsty. Tom’s Town satisfies that thirst by producing premium craft spirits. You can taste our high standards and attention to detail in every sip of the gin, vodka, and bourbon we make.

If you do not want to book a private room, but are interested in bringing in a larger group, contact us at 816-308-2131. Unfortunately, due to our processing system, we are unable to split checks by item. However, we can accept multiple cards. Let your server know if you have any questions! Must be 21+ to enter the Tasting Room.

Attention all you ghouls and witches! Our spookeasy, The Cloven Hoof, is opening soon. Enjoy sinister cocktails, scarily delicious bites, and thrills – Tom's style! Open Thursday-Saturday nights until Halloween. All speakeasy reservations have a 2 hour time limit and seating is by reservation only. We will accommodate when possible but cannot guarantee seating for parties arriving more than 15 minutes late.

Food choice was minimal. Old fashion drink should be served with large ice cube. $16 is too much for a sub standard drink.

I went in with a large group celebrating two 30th birthdays. The service was incredible, our server KB was fast, efficient and she took such wonderful care of us. KB was also so knowledgeable of the fun exciting drink menu you can only order downstairs in the basement for their Tropicana experience. KB helped us decide on some fantastic cocktails including the Mango Monsoon, KC Colada, MagmaRita (which comes out on fire), Lemon shark slushie and the Rum runners rescue. The drinks were delicious, not too sweet and had Toms town’s signature liquors in them. I don’t typically like gin but Tom’s town botanical gin is the only one I’ll drink. Huge thank you again to everyone that helped make this a night to remember from the gracious host, to Britney C that ok my reservation, to the bartender and of course our server KB.

Our server didn’t write anything down and made multiple mistakes. Another customer was causing a scene and threw glassware at guests including our party- the glass shattered. No management came to assess the dining room situation and keep customers safe.
