We are a BYOB sushi and ramen restaurant located in Old City, Philadelphia, serving traditional style sushi and ramen with a newfangled twist. Tomo was funded out of passion by two lifelong tomodachi (friends in Japanese): Sushi Chef Andy and Ramen Chef Steven.

Best Vegan Sushi options we have found in Philadelphia. The overall vibe is laid back rather than formal, the food quality very good to superb depending on the dish. If you like Sushi and prefer to have vegan options as part if not all of your meal, give this place a shot.

I love Tomo overall. We are visiting from out of town, and I always make sure to come in when we are around. Every time I have dined, it has been a pretty solid experience. Management seemed engaged today, which I appreciate. However, the hostess came across a bit (for lack of a better term) rude. Almost as if we were an inconvenience (with a reservation… that we weren’t late for). I also thought it was a bit strange that we were seated at the smallest table in the restaurant (normally, as a table of 2, I don’t think twice- most tables were occupied with parties of 2 at tables for 4) even though there were quite a few larger tables open (my spouse is a large man… dwarfing the table). Food is great, though. The quality is great. Next time I’ll make sure to put “date” as the “occasion” when making the reservation in hopes of a more intimate experience.

It's always amazing, and I'm probably there once a week. I don't understand why they don't make Philly's 50 Best.

I celebrated my birthday here last year with family and today was just me with my kids. It was so lovely, delicious, and perfect! It’s easily my favorite sushi and ramen restaurant. They even brought out some complimentary vegan mochi for my birthday! 10/10 would recommend every single time. They never miss

I really want to like this place because it's so close to my apartment and always gets great reviews but I consistently find that the rolls are TINY and completely misshapen, and I don't feel that you get the "bang" for your buck. While the sushi rolls are fine, none of them "wowed" me or my dining partner. Our dumplings came out cold. Hoping to see improvement so that Tomo can become my new favorite.
