Our family-friendly Italian restaurant is conveniently located in the Montgomery Village Shopping Center at the corner of Sonoma Avenue and Farmers Lane.

Tomatina is a classic Italian restaurant. As a sharp contrast to fine Italian dining, this is a place to enjoy a glass of wine and unwind with unpretentious pasta dishes served in hearty portions. Tomatina is designed to appeal to as many people as possible, which is why they carry a vegetarian, gluten-free and children,s menu in addition to their regular ones. Each month, Tomatina offers seasonal specials in addition to the normal menu. Staples of the menu that guests can always count on are dishes such as the mozzarella and prosciutto sandwich, ravioli di formaggi, mini-hand tossed pizzas.

Sorry but I cannot give a good review. Food was good, but service lacked. We had reservations, and had requested a quiet table for our anniversary. They seated us in the middle of the room at the end of a large banquet table. :-( Service very slow. No communications about when it was coming. Asked for the appetizer to come with our meal. The meal came first, and appetizer came at the very end, after we were through with our meal. I would have been ok with the long wait for food, and even with appetizer super late, but there was no attempt to communicate with us. Tomatina: you missed the mark. Food was fine, but service not so much.

Ambiance was ok. It was dimly lit and quiet, but looked very much like an Italian chain place. Kinda like a Cattlemens or Applebee's chain. Not what I was expecting. Server (who I think was also a manager) was very slow and not very attentive. Food was mediocre. Husband's pasta was not creamy for fettuccine. It was more like a butter sauce. Garlic bread did not have a garlic flavor. My speghetti was good, not great. The salad was the most flavorful, but over dressed. Sorry. Wish it was better.

The restaurant was noticeably understaffed and this resulted in pretty long waits for our food. That said, our waiter was pleasant and the food was great, as always.

Took a long time to be greeted. No shrimp for the special. Told while ordering. No pesto, 3 of 5 ordered something with pesto. Told 10 mins after ordering. Identical dishes tasted very different. Kids spaghetti was extremely salty. My dish was drenched in butter, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a whole stick. I’m sure this place is good for some, but after multiple lack-luster experiences here, it is time to write them off.

The food and drink was very tasty. However the food wasn’t very hot. It took a long time before we were approached or even given any water. The bruschetta appetizer was delicious. And the amount of food was good. Would have liked some bread with our pasta.

Every time we take advantage of the special dinners for two, the staff look at us like we’re crazy. I show them the email special offer and then they say, “oh yeah, we do have that!” I would think they’d have a special menu printed up on a flyer, so the customer doesn’t have to explain it to them. Service was very slow. Food was okay, but nothing special. The happy hour with special small plates and discounts on beverages is a good idea. We probably won’t be doing the weekend specials anymore.

I always love Tomatina. My only concern is they seem to operate with very light staff. Often times there is no one up front to seat you and you have to wait until someone spots you. Then drinks and such are not filled because the staff is thin. but i love the place.

Food didn’t have much taste but service was excellent. We Had Margherita pizza - which wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t good.

The service was not good. My party waited a long time to order. Our waiter was basically the bartender for the restaurant and also waiting tables. The food was fine and it came quickly after ordering but we waited at least an hour just to order
