Tomalo is a worldly Mexican inspired restaurant, created by UrbanSpace Hospitality, that draws influences from various regions of Mexico and beyond. Tomalo anchors the ground level of the 44 East Ave. Residences, the skyscraper on the banks of Lady Bird Lake where East Ave meets Rainey St. We source and utilize local ingredients and a focus on community.

Reservations are recommended but walk-ins are welcomed any day of the week (closed Mondays).

We have a beautiful mezzanine lounge on the second floor of our restaurant. There is also a semi private dining room. The Private Dining Room has can accommodate up to 16 people very comfortably. Full A/V hookups. The top floor also has a lavish agave bar with 100+ various tequilas and mezcal as well as a full bar. Perfect for any occasion.

Had our anniversary dinner here and it was wonderful. The service was outstanding and the ceviche and sweet potatoes were my favorite item on the menu. The cocktails are also great. Highly recommend and will be going back.

Mucha luz, linda decoración pero la iluminación arruina todo. La musica podria mejorar su playlist.

I’ll come back and give it a try again since it’s a busy weekend. But it took a long time to get some simple egg tacos.

Jorge the bartender made all the difference in our visit. The ambiance was beautiful. The four stars are for limited menu and forgetfulness of the waiter.

Creative food and it brings the heat. The vibe is great and decor is next level. Great, attentive service and a really fun evening overall.

Service was pretty poor considering there weren’t many tables in the restaurant. Food was good though!

We were only people in restaurant. First two people served 5 min before others. Food was literally cold on one of the plates .... Melted cheese was a cold glob....Place has potential as the food was tasty but they have alot of kinks to work out. Waiter was great and embarassed.

We loved Tomalo! We loved our food, from the frozen margaritas to the queso, tacos and beans and rice. Everything was delicious! We are so glad we tried it and are excited to go back!
