Step out of the bustling cobblestone streets of Temple Bar and down the stairs to Tomahawk Steakhouse where beautiful windows allow in light from street level. This is an intimate and unique dining setting – and our steaks are the star of the show.

We have spent months researching where to source the best steaks from around the world and the results of that exploration is there is no better beef than Irish and we are proud to say that we serve only the market-best at Tomahawk.

Tomahawk has 80 delightful seats for you and your party to choose from. We have comfy corners matched with matte timber tables adorned with leather seats, where diners can enjoy their delicious meals under the ambient street lighting that pours in from above. Or you can choose to perch comfortably along the gorgeous timber dining bar set around our open kitchen and watch the theatre of a professional kitchen at work in front of you.

The food was amazing and the service was superb. My son had a cherry cocktail that was divine—dessert-like almost. We shared the goats cheese and beetroot salad. Delicious and so beautifully plated. There were a number of flavors going on, but they blended well and yet were all distinct. Our steaks had a perfect crust. I advise that medium is not like in America—it is more done…I would go with medium rare next time. There will definitely be a next time!

Food was outstanding from starters to desserts. Also restaurant atmosphere was great. Price - quality ratio also very good although it’s not the cheapest. Only minor claim to say was the feeling we got that they wanted us finish the dinner quickly. Service is super fast, and waitress constantly asking “are you finished” even you can see we are not. We would have stayed longer and enjoy a few more drinks after great stakes but decided to leave for drinks to the other place.

The meat was very lovely! Some of us said “it was the best they ever had”. However, the wine wasn’t poured evenly and the drinks for our group of 7 were just dumped on the table (so we had to distribute them ourselves). Normally not a problem, but you pay a 12.5% service fee for a group of 6 people or more. Still would recommend this place to anyone visiting Dublin!

Food was excellent and the drinks we had were also very good. That aside, the pricing was on the higher end , mostly justified by the quality, but the drinks could have been a tad bit cheaper , as the amount you get isn't much , at least when getting a cocktail. Restrooms could use an upgrade for a restaurant that one can mostly see as a high-end one. Overall , would recommend trying this one if you don't mind spending a little extra compared to your average restaurant, especially so if you love a good steak!

It took 50 minutes for our steaks to arrive, only three other tables were served during this time. We didn’t eat the onion stack, finely shredded onion in batter, grease! Blue cheese sauce was just mayonnaise. Whiskey peppercorn sauce was poor. Ribeye steak was very good, the 12 oz fillet was odd, juicy on first bite but then dry in mouth. Loads of good steak houses in Dublin - so won’t be back.
