Le Toloache-Midtown (prononcé toh-lo-AH-tchay) est un bistro mexicain contemporain appartenant au chef Julian Medina et situé au cœur du quartier des théâtres. Le Toloache est nommé d'après une plante à fleurs célèbre au Mexique pour son utilisation dans les philtres d'amour. Vous apprécierez la cuisine créative du chef Medina qui incorpore des ingrédients de saison et naturels ainsi que plus d'une douzaine de types de piments. Cet espace à l'atmosphère festive comporte un bar à guacamole et ceviche, un four à bois, une liste de tequila exceptionnelle ainsi que des éléments décoratifs élégants importés du Mexique.

Overall, this was a very convenient spot as we were going to see Wicked right after our dinner (the theatre is directly adjacent). The service was good and very accommodating (I'm so pleased with them preparing a birthday dessert plate for our party of 5) so in regards to convenience and service I would recommend them for anyone trying to eat in the area. That said, the food was acceptable. Nothing we ordered was stellar or even worth talking about. We tried the guacamole, various tacos, quesadillas, and all of the desserts. The chocolate cake was not a hit, but the rest were all good. The portions are very small (almost comically) for the price but we were fortunately not starving. For average tasting food with basically no toppings, $18+ for what equates to two very small tacos is simply not worth visiting here again (for us). They do have a lot of positive reviews by people who seem to visit often, so maybe it was just an off night, in regards to flavor, but for the quantity of food at roughly $50 per person (which is about what we spent not including drinks) Toloache likely won't be getting a call-back from us.

Was with some friends from out of town to see a show and taking some sites. We had gone there many times before Covid and before moving out of the state. It was a fabulous experience, they had our reservation. The drinks were exactly as I remembered, perfect. Our waitress gave us her recommendations which we took especially because we wanted the lighter bites, she asked what time so that she would know how to serve and bring things out. I’m glad with all the changes that have occurred in the city, their service, beverages, food and ambience had not changed at all.

This was our second time there and it won’t be our last! Everything was as good as our last visit which speaks to the consistency of the kitchen and staff. They also have a large outgoing business by what we observed. If you’re in the area, don’t pass it up!

Been here several times. Food and drinks have always been excellent and continued to be so on this trip. Service was awful this trip. Felt rushed from the moment we sat down. Waitress seemed really annoyed when she came to take our order and we weren’t ready.

Absolutely fabulous meal & service. Loved the made from scratch cocktails, especially the watermelon margarita. Excellent fresh guacamole & chips- also loved the smoky salsa. Carne asada melts in your mouth. And don't miss the pumpkin black truffle creamy rice- to die for!
