The service was good. We were charged $51 for a tip with a party of 8. We were not informed there would be 20% gratuity added. Perhaps I should have known but, perhaps we should have been told. My main complaint was the food and prices. The food was way more Tokyo than cowboy and we were told the portions were “large and family style”. I did not feel that was so. The Mac and cheese was served lukewarm and had a weird mouthfeel. The brisket egg roll at $9 was just ridiculous. The taste was good but, come on, at that price there should have been two! I had literally one waffle cut into four little squares for $17! They just weren’t that great and way overpriced. I think if the flavors would have been awesome then the prices would have been more understandable. Lastly, after I got home and looked over the bill more closely, I was charged $10 for a food item we never received.

Josh our waiter surprised me as he got us started with the meal. He came back 20 min later to take order. Wait for meal to be plated and served was an exhorborant amount of time 45 min. Only 1 of 2 meals served. Josh stated there was a mix up and 2nd meal was being prepared. So b day dinner had each of us eating alone. Expected an experience much different.

My husband and I had an amazing time at Tokyo Cowboy. We enjoyed so much our dinner, we highly recommend the mac and cheese and the beef egg roll. We’ll come back!!

Definitely a unique experience. Waitstaff was very kind and helpful. Cute and intimate tables (kind of dark though).

Had Tokyo Cowboy before a show at the Majestic. Sat at the “counter”. Was immediately served a water and drink orders were taken. Waitress was super helpful and made great recommendations! Started with the shredded vegetable appetizer. Zesty,with a tiny kick, delicious. Had Gulf and Shrimp Noodles, and Pork Belly, and Blistered green beans. Everything was really good with delicious flavor. Can’t believe the menu does mention the thinly sliced dried fish that “dances” on your plate with the noodle dish…super cool. Finished with Tokyo Tres Leches. Sooo good. Everything was great at Tokyo Cowboy. The noise level is a little high, primarily because it’s an old building with bad acoustics. The noise level was not enough to take away from the overall great experience!

Waited over 20 minutes to even see a wait staff last night. Only by flagging them down. We had a reservation we set earlier in the day. It was to celebrate just proposing to my finance. The waiter told us the reason it is taking so long is because the general manager decided to come in with a huge party and they feel pressured to serve only them right now. We told them we understood the situation but even getting somebody to talk to us or give us waters would be nice. After almost an hour of being there we finally were able to eat. They forgot our starters so we had to re-order those. The food was good but not worth the service or wait we had to ensure. Overall I felt very frustrated and embarrassed to take my new fiance to such a fine looking restaurant on a reservation only to be told we were not very important and to be treated dismissively to where we couldnt have more than a minute with our waiter to request ot be checked up on. We spent over 175 dollars for 4 people for a unimpressive experience all around. We left and went to the On The Bend bar down the riverwalk. It was cheaper, staff was happier and more attentive, and had live music that openly celebrated our proposal. Thank goodness they saved the night that your restaurant almost ruined. And I dont blame the wait staff. I blame the General Manager who put his own restaurant and team in this situation so selfishly. I hope they are treated better going forward or find a better place to work than this place.
