Tokyo Bird is a Japanese inspired small bar located in Belmore Lane, Surry Hills, serving Japanese whisky and beer, cocktails, sake and yakitori – chicken and other delicious morsels on skewers, grilled Japanese style.

Tokyo Bird combines the best of Tokyo’s yakitori-ya and izakaya with classic cocktail bars in an intimate Sydney laneway small bar. We look forward to welcoming you to Tokyo Bird!

The vibe was good, and the service was outstanding but the food was such a let down… everything was cold especially the skewers and very bland/dry…. I’ve never experienced anything like this. Told the waiters but they said it’s normal to be that dry.. been to another yakitori place and everything was fresh and hot. Only good thing there was the chicken karrage.

Digital menu is hard to read on phone, having a book menu would have been better. :) Otherwise food was amazing !

I went to Tokyo Bird for my birthday and had never been before until then. It was definitely the right choice. Service was incredible, food came out quick, drinks were great. I went with 6 of my friends and when it came to splitting the bill, dinner was super cheap! Definitely recommend going to Tokyo Bird for great Japanese cuisine and drinks - whether that be with one friend or two.

Food was delicious and the restaurant looked great - a cool, chilled atmosphere. Drinks were and food was a good size for sharing, we tried so much of the menu! Particular highlights were the tuna tartare and the crab croquettes. Good range for our vegetarian friend too.
