Great good, but the level of service here compared to the location I used to frequent in LA is night and day difference. They seem to have foregone any attention to customer service here and instead focus on trying to be an "elitist spot". The level of service was so bad that it took away from what would normally be a great food/ambience experience.

Toca Madera is a gem with delicious food that really hits the spot! The ambiance is absolutely beautiful, making it a great place to enjoy a meal. Unfortunately, the service didn’t quite match the quality of the food. Our waitress seemed to be MIA, and we had to get up to find another staff member just to get forks and knives. It was a bit frustrating, but once we got started, the meal definitely made up for it. Overall, I’d say it’s worth a visit, just be prepared to take charge of your dining experience!

I’ve become almost a regular at this restaurant and although it has a wonderful ambiance the wait time to be seated with reservations is out of control. Each time I have a reservation it takes 15 mins to be seated. Seems like there’s no point to even make one. Better off trying to get a seat at the bar.

We made a reservation at 2 pm days in advance. We were not seated until 2:50 pm. As a mother of a new baby who got a sitter for the occasion and was on a time constraint I was very disappointed that half of my time away was spent waiting on a table. The hostess was extremely rude to my friend each time she asked when the tables would be ready. After we were seated a manager came by and she asked us how things were and when we told her about being seated nearly an hour after our reservation time she said “sorry we are understaffed we weren’t expecting brunch to be this busy” despite Toca modera advertising their brunch like crazy and it being one of the newest most poplar restaurant in Houston. She was dismissive and did not offer anything for our inconvenience like a comped appetizer or a percentage off of our tab which would have been expected at such a high end restaurant where you are spending hundreds of dollars. I will not be wasting my time at that restaurant again. The customer service and food and professionalism do not match the cost.

Amazing environment. Excellent, and I mean EXCELLENT service. Food was fantastic. Drinks were incredible. Overall 10/10 really. New favorite restaurant. Will be back soon!! Thank you! 👏🏽👏🏽

Toca Madera in Houston has a lively atmosphere with beautiful decor and a creative twist on Mexican cuisine. We had the pleasure of having a lovely lady named Amira as our server her friendly, attentive service and thoughtful recommendations made the experience even better. Great spot for a fun night 10/10.

The food and vibe were exceptional as well as the flame drinks and dessert. The one issue we had was the waiter said he knew we were celebrating my friend's birthday so when he asked if he could bring us a glass of champagne to start, I agreed as I said we we ordering wine. However, wet had no idea it was going to be $35 a glass until we got the bill and saw the extra $70 added. He made it as if he was offering it since it was her birthday so that was a very pricey upcharge for which I don't know if there was another option available as the wine list with prices is not online.

Service, food and ambience were great. I ordered the iron flat and it was very tasteful. The interior deco is impressive too.
