We made a reservation at 2 pm days in advance. We were not seated until 2:50 pm. As a mother of a new baby who got a sitter for the occasion and was on a time constraint I was very disappointed that half of my time away was spent waiting on a table. The hostess was extremely rude to my friend each time she asked when the tables would be ready. After we were seated a manager came by and she asked us how things were and when we told her about being seated nearly an hour after our reservation time she said “sorry we are understaffed we weren’t expecting brunch to be this busy” despite Toca modera advertising their brunch like crazy and it being one of the newest most poplar restaurant in Houston. She was dismissive and did not offer anything for our inconvenience like a comped appetizer or a percentage off of our tab which would have been expected at such a high end restaurant where you are spending hundreds of dollars. I will not be wasting my time at that restaurant again. The customer service and food and professionalism do not match the cost.

Toca Madera in Houston has a lively atmosphere with beautiful decor and a creative twist on Mexican cuisine. We had the pleasure of having a lovely lady named Amira as our server her friendly, attentive service and thoughtful recommendations made the experience even better. Great spot for a fun night 10/10.

The food and vibe were exceptional as well as the flame drinks and dessert. The one issue we had was the waiter said he knew we were celebrating my friend's birthday so when he asked if he could bring us a glass of champagne to start, I agreed as I said we we ordering wine. However, wet had no idea it was going to be $35 a glass until we got the bill and saw the extra $70 added. He made it as if he was offering it since it was her birthday so that was a very pricey upcharge for which I don't know if there was another option available as the wine list with prices is not online.

Service, food and ambience were great. I ordered the iron flat and it was very tasteful. The interior deco is impressive too.

The restaurant is beautiful but I think they took on a large space that they don't have the compacting to handle. Our waiter was amazing but it seems like everyone in our section was being brought out the wrong food. The food runners were dropping food off the to the wrong tables the entire night and my appetizer didn't come out before my meal. Overall I give this place a 7 out of 10 the music is too loud but the food is tasty

We dined here for our wedding anniversary and fell in love with the look of the restaurant as we love traveling to Tulum! The food was amazing. The music was amazing and it should be a five star experience. The only thing negative was it seemed the servers were understaffed and overworked once the restaurant became crowded. We were without water and it took a terribly long time for the waitress to return to our table for any needs that we may have had. That was terribly disappointing. For the price point of the restaurant and the experience, service should be on point and hopefully that will be improved so the restaurant can survive.

Apparently, Toca Madera is not open for reservations on open table. They did not accept our reservation or accommodate us. Also charged $30 for valet.
