Welcome to TJ's Bar and Restaurant.

We are located at Parkfoot Holiday Park by the shore of Ullswater Lake, a short walk from Pooley Bridge.
We serve fresh home cooked food, burgers and steak from the grill and also have a busy takeaway service serving homemade pizzas and other tasty alternatives.

Please Note

We only reserve our restaurant dining area, the bar area is a first come basis and will not be reserved for entertainment.

We operate on a card only basis, cash will not be accepted. Food and drink from the Restaurant is ordered separately.

It’s such a shame, as the food is good (when it comes) and the staff are doing the best with the hand they’ve been dealt with. We have an annual car meet which is great fun and brings a unique collection of cars for all to see to the camp. As a group we booked well in advance and whilst we all weren’t eating at the same time, the kitchen had advanced notice of the numbers and timings. To cut to the chase it was over and hour and half from ordering to receiving our food. It had been a long day and we were all hungry, so after the third chaser I spoke to the manager directly to find out why our wait was so long. The response was take aways had been busy as had the walk ins. My response, which at the point of being very hangry, was to politely ask why we were deprioritised vs those who hadn’t made prior arrangements to get fed within an acceptable time period. I don’t work in catering, but it’s common sense that if you can’t accommodate the prebooked servings, you shouldn’t be taking walk ins or handling take aways - the response was they agreed and it’s something that’s been pointed out to the owners and they are hoping ‘the system’ changed. I feel really sorry for the staff, they do their best and are clearly being let down by the owners - the food is nice when it comes, but at that point I was passed caring. Very disappointing and had it not been for a member of the group paying for the table, I would have escalated to get money off or a significant discount. Please get your priorities sorted and help your staff to deliver better results at TJ’s.

We have been eating in TJ's for 3 years running and they never seem to get it right. We book tables - that's not easy, we order food in advance, again not that easy. They never seem to have enough staff on and despite ordering food in advance they still cant get it right. We ordered 12 meals in advance and it took them just under 2 hours from sitting down to getting food, and even then they forgot one meal completely offering a bowl of chips instead as they said they could'nt guarantee that the missing meal could be served. To compound it the staff were'nt particularly friendly or helpful - which is'nt what they are normally like to be honest. Overall - very dissapointing.

We enjoyed the overall dining experience at TJ’s , 5 of us booked a table on the website easily and we were shown to our table , read through the choices of meals , the gammon was cooked well and the pork belly was beautiful, kids had pizza’s and garlic bread & chicken burgers , prices were pretty reasonable and the service was good , overall would dine here again .

Our waitress was amazing and really helpful but we had to wait over 50 minutes as there was a big party Infront of us. Had someone said they was sorry for our wait that would off helped. The waitress was really good as she explained they had staffing issues and the manager had to do the cooking. She was given the responsibility to offer us either a free meal or drinks which did help with the long waiting time.

Most of the food was a little overcooked, there wasn’t really any ambience to speak of, ok if you’re really hungry and don’t want to travel off the campsite. Toilets were awful.

Group of 12 booking - start with negatives… we were sat at wrong table first - soon realised not enough places so had to move. Service a little slow. Couldn’t order drinks so had to stand in one long cue at the bar shared by the non-restaurant side. TJs gluten free burger was a little bland, my daughter ordered mac & cheese from kids menu, wouldn’t eat it as cheese had a sour taste. Ordered desserts, paid bill, got a call after we had left saying they had forgotten to add the deserts to bill so had to go back and pay more. On to positives… The whole party was catered for, and even had another 8 friends book on and they wer able to sit on the next table. Several ordered the pizzas and said they enjoyed. Staff were all friendly. Dogs are allowed (even though we didn’t have ours this time, its good to know for another time). Very impressed with a vegan and a gluten menu. My son has a dairy allergy and its difficult when it comes to desserts. He was over the moon to be able to have a chocolate cake & icecream. Overall a nice place to have food & a drink (especially when the rain starts)! We will return in the future.

Great food with lovely friendly staff. Very helpful with a gluten free choice for granddaughter who is celiac . No problem with our dog who laid down on a towel next to our table . Thank you all staff at TJs
