Cathy Ortega & Gerald Aquintey didn't know what to expect after finally opening up a Filipino small grocery & takeout joint together. The shop was doing great but they wanted to do more. They wanted to give Toronto a much more authentic Filipino taste and experience without the price of a flight to the Philippines. Kamayan / Boodle Fight (the formality of eating with your hands) was the obvious solution.

Fun and delicious group experience! Make room for lumpia and lechon in addition to the feast. Service can be a bit slow so just need to grab them when you can.

I’ve been going to those places on & off for many years every experience has been different sometimes theres more staff walking around to check up on you every so often which is nice but this time when I wanted to order something extra it was a little difficult to wave someone down to come to the table and where I was sitting the AC water was dripping down my back not a big issue my other experiences were from great to ok someone’s staff are happier than others .. foods always good but I suggest maybe a choice in flavouring the squid? I normally order the Kamayan feast with a group of my friends & yesterday I invited a friend to come try his first kamayan feast platter it was yummy but squid is just meh .. I just remember back in the days it used to be $15/pp then $19/$20 now $25/pp same portion or less kinda pricey but it’s ok if you want to try something different here n there :) I will still continue to come back & bring friends:) Oh also I ordered the chicken silog w/ egg, garlic rice & salad to go for a friend @$14.50 when asking my friend who tried for first time his response was it’s good accept for the chicken it was dry & no flavour and portion wasn’t worth the price so I will not be ordering that again.

Fantastic! My absolute fav when it comes to Kamayan. Staff members are quite accommodating to my request. Price is quite reasonable and the quality of food is fresh and tasty. Highly recommended.

I was craving for a Filipino food. Tinuno did not disappoint. Quick service and delicious food.

You can’t go wrong with Tinuno! It’s a nice and quiet mom-and-pop shop that serves delicious Filipino cuisine. I would come back here simply for the Kamayan meal experience, which is of great value. I’ve only dined in at Tinuno twice; once before and once after the pandemic at the Howard location. The food quality is still top-notch after all these years. I’ll have to try their Bathurst location sometime in the near future!
