Le Tīng, dont le nom signifie « salon » en chinois, se compose d'un restaurant et d'un salon situés au 35ème étage. Installé à 128 mètres de hauteur, l'espace animé du Ting Restaurant, Shangri-La At The Shard offre une vue panoramique à 360 degrés sur la capitale. Le Tīng présente un menu européen moderne avec de subtiles influences asiatiques. Unfortunately disappointed by the experience. I usually have dinner at Hutong (another Asian restaurant at the Shard), but this time decided to try something new. Food was very average (or worse) - unbalanced flavors or quite tasteless. Water was warm and bread was very dry. Not quite in line with what one would expect when ordering 40£ dishes. We have been seated very far from the window (which is fine, I expected that could happen as window seating is guaranteed) but in front of an “operations” area for the staff: door leading into a back area, counter with (untidily kept) cutlery, orders computer, … I was honestly expecting more, what a pity.

Very disappointed I’m afraid. Whilst the food was amazing, the service was abysmal. We opted for the taster menu which was lovely food but the starter arrived whilst we were eating our amuse bouche, then the second course arrived whilst I was eating the first one and the waiter waited next to me whilst I finished that!!! Then a forty minute gap until the next course, we had to ask to order a drink and ask for the long awaited main course. They seemed so disorganised in there. Such a shame as we’d travelled up from Poole for the weekend. Wish we’d got room service now as that was great and half the price!

Shoutout to Jenny and Anthony for their great hosting and making our experience special. However the food took over an hour to all arrive and we booked for a birthday but didn’t get anything at the end that you usually get from restaurant to celebrate the occasion.

I don’t normally like to write a negative sounding review. We were really looking forward to the food at Ting this evening. Service was attentive at the beginning but the food unfortunately let us down. Starter of salmon was ok , tiny portion at £29 , then the main meal I chose was the sea bass , it was overcooked and was supposed to be marinated in lemongrass etc , however it was completely tasteless . I don’t finish the meal. My husband thought his meal was ok. When your left unsatisfied you tend to look at deserts to help ‘ hit that spot’ unfortunately that was a let down too. I had a couple of spoonfuls and also didn’t finish the desert. Then the bill came to a whopping £468 for 2 adults and a child . I think it would have been fine if it had felt like it had been worth it . They had taken a good while to clear our plates after we finished the mains. We had asked 3x for the dessert menu but no one was bringing it to us. This was quite annoying. Def happy to pay the money when the food is worth it , also the staff should pay attention - no one asked as to why I hadn’t finished my dishes for example.

Stay away from the price fixe. Tiny portions for lots of money. But the view is very nice.
