Simon and Tania Johnson have owned Tinamba Hotel since October 2020 and feel honoured to be the custodians of the hotel’s proud heritage as they build upon a vision from previous owners, Brad Neilson, Damien Gannon, the Schoenmaeker and Whelan families.

Using the finest, locally grown fresh produce from local suppliers and working with the most talented chefs in the region is what the Johnsons believe sets Tinamba Hotel apart. The signature dishes deliver a truly memorable experience, served in a setting famously known as Gippsland’s favourite destination dining venue.

    One member of our group of 6 ordered the chicken meal, which arrived very late. He was quite concerned that the meat was still quite pink. The waiter was very obliging and asked chef if it was okay, chef’s response was that it was from the meat being near the bone. Unfortunately our guest did not feel safe eating very pink chicken meat and therefore did not get to enjoy the dining experience the rest of our group did. The hotel was good and offered him a free desert but he would have preferred to enjoy a hassle free main course. The waiting staff were very pleasant. The atmosphere great. The room a little warm as it had been a hot day and was full of patrons, maybe turn the air conditioning down a degree or two on hot days. Beside the problem with the one main meal we were with great friends and had an enjoyable evening.

    Enjoyed our meal at Tinamba, party of 5, tried share menu. Plenty of food, dessert to die for! Love the attention at service, 18th Bday made special by some kind considerations of serving staff and kitchen. Thank you. Only small issue was comfort of seats, well polished and slippy and became a bit uncomfortable after sitting for the few hours we were there. A cushion could assist.

    My partner and I dined at the Tinamba Hotel on a Saturday night and chose from the a la carte menu. The entrees (venison and pork jowl) were excellent. We shared a lamb shoulder for our mains with three sides. We couldn't fault any of these dishes. The only thing that let down an outstanding dining experience is that the desserts both fell a bit short of the mark. This hotel is a true gem on a crossroad "in the middle of nowhere" and it's well making the effort to discover.

    It was a great experience. Maybe a heating system for outdoor area while it's cold. Other than that the foodnwas amazing !!!!

    We enjoyed our 6 course tasting dinner. The service was very good (and great that it was back to its usual level of service as our last visit the service wasn't to the usual standard) A great night overall.
