The ffrost Sawyer Tavern is located in the beautiful and historic Three Chimneys Inn. The Tavern, with its open hearth Summer Kitchen fireplace, granite walls, and hand-hewn beams, provides a cozy spot for hearty traditional New England fare. The Tavern is a popular dining spot for local guests and travelers. The Maples Dining Room features millwork dating to 1699 and retains the original Indian shutters that protected settlers from Colonial-era attacks. Coppers, the original winter kitchen of the 1649 homestead, provides an elegant and romantic setting. Wide plank floors, the open hearth and original millwork create an authentic old New England dining experience.

Our culinary team prepares savory dishes from scratch with exceptional, homegrown flavor. The kitchen works closely with local farms and growers to pick fresh ingredients for creative entrees and innovative cocktails, resulting in exceptional farm-to-table cuisine that showcases the essence of New Hampshire.

Event going on upstairs that really impacted our experience. 35 mins to wait for appetizers, food was subpar. Completely disappointed

Loved it! We’ve driving by it for years, and finally made a reservation. The Prime Rib dinner was everything we hoped for. The service was perfect. We’ll be back!

Excellent food and service once seated. Stood about 10 minutes at entrance before being seated. Recommend a host/hostess station at entrance to make it less awkward. Overall a bit pricey made up by quality and service.

The Potato Crusted Haddock was quite possibly the worst meal I’ve ever eaten. I usually finish all of my food- no problem. But I left 90% of it on my plate. The haddock and potatoes was a huge portion size. Both are white so it was hard to tell which was which. There was NO FLAVOR. NO SAUCE. It was a bland mess and absolutely DISGUSTING!!! Same with the green beans, except somehow they were oily. The entire meal was a waste of $30. Very disappointing. Decent service can’t make up for an unsatisfactory entree.

Such great ambience. The building was built hundreds of years ago. Service was excellent with everyone being very friendly. The food was very good.

The staff was very friendly, courteous, and polite. They encouraged us to look around the very interesting in and shared with us. Some of the history that the little pamphlet might not have covered. They were very descriptive with the menu. They knew it well. The food was delicious. We even had dessert the lemon cake is quite yummy. Overall a very good experience and we will be returning soon and will recommend TCI for sure

Wonderful food and service. It was a quiet night and we strolled the restful grounds before dinner so we would have a good appetite. Food was so good and our waitress was very attentive and informative about the food and wine selections! It made our night so enjoyable.

Our waitress was amazing. She was so friendly and upbeat and very accommodating. The food, while delicious, could’ve been a little bit warmer. I think next time we go, and we will go, we will try something completely different that we cannot get at any any other restaurant to see how that is.

Love the tavern setting, and the food overall was delicious, but I was disappointed that my swordfish skewers were well done, even though I asked for them to be rare. And when I asked for them to be taken back and replaced with swordfish skewers, I was told that the chef wasn’t able to do that. What kind of chef cannot cook fish rare? You just have to take it off the heat sooner. So then I had to wait for another entrée to be prepared. But the restaurant was very kind and comped my salad.
