Friendly pub - good pub food. We always come here before going to The Marlowe Theatre

Wonderful family pub in central Canterbury, easy walk from the Cathedral. Food was great, and the service and ambiance were wonderful. Highly recommended.

Good menu, great selection of draught beers and friendly staff member behind the bar. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. Overall an enjoyable evening.

At 4pm i booked online for a 6.30pm table for 2. Upon arrival in a busy atmosphere i was informed i should have called for a table. Booking online takes 4 hours to go through because the 'ipad we use is a bit slow'. Staff did nothing to accommodate and it left me with the feeling that they only really cares about the casual drinkers. Nearly ruined a one day/ night trip, leaving us with nowhere to dine. Luckily we found a place to eat but the service and attitude was poor. Felt very unwelcome so shall not return.

Can not fault it. Young lady and young man behind bar were both welcoming and Pleasent. Food I feel was a bargain at 2 courses for £16.00 and was delicious. Will definitely be using again. We were going to the Marlowe and can highly recommend the pub for pre theatre meal.

Booked in for Sunday lunch and and was not disappointed! Food was amazing considering they were busy and the staff were so friendly. Dog friendly too! Will definitely visit again!

Disgraceful walked out in disgust would definitely not recommend.... don't know about the food it's self as we didn't stay long enough to find out!!!!

We arrived at our booked time of 16.45 but we couldn't eat there because they have a policy of no under 18's after 17.00. We asked the manager if we could still eat, but he said his liability insurance didn't cover under 18's after 17.00. I was very annoyed because when I booked, via the online portal, there was nothing to say that under 18's couldn't eat after 17.00. When I pointed this out to the manager he just shrugged his shoulders. We left then and found another place just down the road where there wasn't an under 18 restriction, and it was lovely too. Probably better than Thomas Becket anyway!
