Thirteen is an upscale, elevated dining restaurant offering an unmeasurable experience right in the heart of Midtown Houston, Tx. Founded by NBA Star, James Harden, Thirteen was a labor of love built on Harden's passion for excellent food and wine, while bringing something different and fresh to the city that you can't find anywhere else. 


At Thirteen, we enforce a strict, upscale dress code. We do not allow overly revealing clothing, athletic apparel, jerseys, ball caps, bandanas, sleeveless shirts, or tank tops. Beachwear and gym attire including but not limited to sweatpants, hoodies, or pool slides are also prohibited in both the dining and lounge area.

    We came for the Afro Tech brunch but there was no food. We were initially informed that the kitchen was closed but would open by the time we’d be seated, mind you we had reservations. We were seated and then we waited 20 minutes for our server to acknowledge our existence. At that time she told us that the menu was limited and then she grabbed menus and went over the food options they did have. She said she’d return to confirm if she was able to put in our order, she came back only to let us know that our mimosa carafes were the only items available. Of course, we left after hearing this. I’m disappointed that they advertise a Sunday Brunch on their opentable and social media platforms but couldn’t provide such.

    Came to our reservation at 2pm and they said they were out of food until 5pm Which was a total inconvenience and waste of our time.. highly disappointed and very sad

    A HOT MESS. We’re from out of town and had high hopes… Online it said it was open til 1am. We booked an 11:15pm table. The second we sat down, she said you need to order asap because the kitchen closes at 11:30. Fine, we ordered. Suddenly at 11:30pm…. The dj stopped playing music. Awkward silence. We asked about music, we were told his shift is done. First of all, if your establishment still has clients, figure something else out. Then… a massive argument broke out between the the bartender and some other patrons. The bartender turned into a disrespectful embarrassment of an employee having a full blown aggressive screaming match with a customer. At no time did the manager step in and tell the bartender to leave the floor. The restaurant was freeeeeeezing and the guests beside us were evidentially also cold. Nothing improved. We sat freezing and waiting forever for our food. Now lights turned on. Cleaners started sweeping around us. Police arrived to handle the drama that had occurred and we were still waiting on our food. Our food arrived. Then we find out some of the items we had ordered… we’re not available. At this point we are told the kitchen was closed so we can’t replace it. They brought cold fries in substitute as if that’s an adequate replacement for someone’s whole dinner? We were assured the food that didn’t come wouldn’t be on the bill - L O L. The noodles tasted like the salted depths of the Red Sea. The dumplings that she dropped in a chair, came filled with the boiling water they were cooked in. The floor manager #1 was consumed with anxiety and did nothing to acknowledge our concerns. Remember we are now sitting in silence, with lights on and no food/ bad food and people sweeping. The manager also avoided having to talk to us. Kevin stepped in- he was great, although by that time what can really be undone? The moral is, don’t have reservations available if you can’t fulfill your experience.

    While the ambiance and overall vibe of the restaurant were great, I encountered several issues that impacted our visit: 1. Seating Delay: We waited 45 minutes to be seated after our entire party arrived, which was quite frustrating. 2. Food Quality: Some of the dishes served were cold, and the appetizers arrived significantly later than the main courses. 3. Service Challenges: The service staff appeared overwhelmed and frustrated, likely due to a high volume of business and orders. Overall, these factors contributed to a disappointing dining experience.

    Our drinks and service was very good. The food wasn’t to my expectations. I was pretty disappointed actually. The lamb chops didn’t have a sear and was so so on flavor at best. The chicken was ok at best as well. The good drinks and great service we had made the night worth it at least.
