The Yurt at Nicholsons offers a unique dining experience with exquisite, locally sourced and simple menus.

Our menus are curated by our head chef, who takes pride in fabulous flavours. All menus offer a variety of dishes using seasonal ingredients and cater for all dietary requirements.

Looking for somewhere to celebrate a special occasion? Our private dining huts offer a unique dining experience. What a wonderful excuse to relax with friends and family in our beautiful surroundings and indulge in delicious food cooked with style.

If you are looking for an informal venue for business meetings, our huts take up to 6 people, giving you a great spot to meet over brunch or lunch.

The circular, tent-like Mongolian Yurt evolved as a transportable community home, and provides an original and intimate atmosphere for dining rat the heart of a superbly manicured and curated garden centre of glorious bushes, trees and plants. The service is friendly and efficient, vegetarians are well catered for, and the menu offers some exquisitely blended, delicately spiced ingredients creating a memorable marriage of colours and flavours in sensible portions without being overpriced. I would recommend the restaurant for special occasions whether for intimate encounters, for families or groups of friends, while the five "huts" outside offer a great space for provate parties. Overall a really great addition to Oxfordshire's choice of restaurant on the more "up-market" end of the scale.

Introduced a friend from China who'd never been to the Yurt and she absolutely loved iy. She said she'd certainly bring her husband next time , a mam born locally who never even knew the Yurt existed! The food was excellent, as it usually is, the ambience peaceful and warm. Some lovely innovations in the menu.

The food is absolutely wonderful. Staff always pleasant. Delightful setting. We go regularly and never feel let down.

The food was brilliant and not overly expensive. We enjoyed seeing the Yurt and the staff were excellent from start to finish. Would have liked slightly more comfortable chairs but the overall ambience was very good. Also the toilets were very clean and attractive.

The menu is very limited and many options contain nuts. What we had was from the daily special menu and it was lovely. But there was really nothing at all that 3 of us would choose from the main menu. For that reason we would be unlikely to go back.

Many thanks for your review Lydia. We are sorry to read you thought your food was lovely but scored us low, we are always looking to improve and take on board guest feedback. As a fresh food restaurant, we offer a lunch and brunch menu all cooked from fresh. With 7 different mains to choose from, before our daily specials and our set menu also. For our 2 chefs this is quite a generous offering without resorting to using frozen bought in produce like many places with a large menu. We rely heavily on the seasons and our own grown produce to drive our menus. Nuts been a superfood for great heart health and many other health benefits do feature in a few dishes but we would be happy to omit if someone asks or for allergy reasons. We hope we can welcome you in again soon. The Yurt Team.

A wonderful meal, our starters, mains and desert were so very good of exceptional high standard. You can tell that the chefs and staff are very passionate about their dishes, and all containing their fresh produce and locally reared meat.

What a beautiful place for a spot of brunch. We had the veggie bowl and eggs benedict which were both amazing and such good value. We will definitely be back!

Visited the Yurt at Nicholson's on a Friday afternoon for a birthday celebration with family. Despite outside being a little cool, the Yurt was nice and warm. The staff were welcoming and friendly, food was delicious and the presentation of each dish was beautiful. It wasn't too noisy either so it was easy to have a conversation at our table.

Fantastic! What a lovely lunch! Welcoming, smiley staff and without doubt some of the best food I've eaten. Just bursting with flavour and beautifully presented. Perfect!
