The Yorkshire Bar & Grill is Situated In the DoubleTree by Hilton York just outside the Monk Bar. We are a friendly restaurant which takes pride in using high quality locally sourced products. Our Head Chef Tom has created an outstanding menu that shows our restaurant for its true potential, with lots of delicious signature meals and grill items

We have lots of special features within The Yorkshire Bar and Grill, such as our attractive café named The Orangery with an inviting courtyard perfect for Afternoon tea in the summer time.

We serve a high quality Sunday lunch menu from 12pm till 4pm every week. We look forward to serving you with a warm welcoming atmosphere that is The Yorkshire Bar & Grill.

The food was the worst I have had in a long time I ordered a ribeye steak costing £28 this came with half a tomato and frozen chips. The chips were described as double cooked chips ! We’re definitely not double cooked straight out of the freezer. When I asked about the double cooked chips the waiter went and asked the chef. I was then told we are getting the double cooked chips in tomorrow. Surely charging these prices you could peel a potato, cut into chips and fry ! I’ve had better meals in my works canteen.

Dined here while staying at the hotel on business. Service was attentive but not intrusive. I ordered the Yorkshire Carbonara which was served piping hot and was rich and creamy and just the right sized portion. Would definitely eat here again.

Table booked for 7.30pm, we arrived and were seated in the restaurant along with 4 other couples, nice and quiet. The waitress explained as we were were seated that at least 6 items were not available, great but there are barely 12 items on the menu to start with. We were also told that because there was a table of 10 in the other part of the restaurant our food would be delayed by 15/20 mins. 55 minutes later we were told that the table of 10 had now been served and our food would be approx. another 20 mins!! Not just us the other couples were in the same boat. I have since looked at other reviews for the restaurant and seen that this seem to be a regular occurrence here. 75 mins after ordered our meals arrived, disappointed was an understatement, the chips were soaked in grease, the meat tough. We still ended up paying £56 for two meals!! Would never go back here and my only recommendation would be to avoid this place

Nice restaurant and staff very helpful and friendly, however wasn’t a great choice of food as when we arrived half the menu wasn’t available

There were 7 of us and we all had a lovely meal, slightly more expensive than a bar meal but surroundings and service were excellent

Despite being really quiet, it took a while for a member of staff to greet our group. Once we were sat down the team were very attentive. It was the first night of a new menu, so the staff were unsure on a few questions but that wasn't a problem. The food got mixed reviews from the group - some loved their choices (Chickpea, Cashew & Coconut Curry), some were very unimpressed (venison). I opted for the king prawn and butter risotto from the small plate section which was £12.50 ... I hoped it would be a suitable starter but it was TINY. Not happy for the price, and I did tell the staff on the night. The Caesar salad was also overpriced considering there was no chicken, and there wasn't an option to add chicken or salmon which is unusual. You may need to order sides as the main courses don't come with very many accompaniments! The restaurant was nicely decorated, and was lovely and clean.

Food was terrible steak no juice and under cooked mash potatoes tasted like they were fake eg frozen mash

Food was average considering hotel prices. I ordered the ham hock terrine as a starter, quite nice but silly things bring the quality down like not enough butter for the bread, and no dressing on the salad. Plus I really don’t think it was served with Yorkshire piccalilli as promised. My main was fish and chips, nice crispy batter even if the fish was slightly overcooked. But half the chips were hard and sorry but that wasn’t home made tartare sauce - straight out of a jar! The service was good and the young waitresses very very attentive but the food wasn’t great.

Terrible and overpriced, we were told the sour bread , soup and salmon were not available as a starter . We chose Yorkshire pudding and gravy as a starter , this was straight out of the microwave, the main course was a pie , mash , broccoli spears and gravy , again out of a microwave, the broccoli was burnt . The whole meal was over £60 including 2 drinks , overpriced and terrible food . But lucky we didn’t order the steak , the lady on the next table did , the steak was 3inches x 2 inches and she was struggling to cut it
