I took my mother for a Mother's Day lunch at the Windmill, and was very pleased with the service and quality provided. Despite the restaurant being fairly busy, we were quickly greeted on our arrival and shown to our table. We didn't have to wait long before being brought menus and were able to order, and the food also arrived swiftly. Quality was excellent - I definitely need to ask the chef for his/her recipe for creamed spinach - and good sized portions also. Overall, an excellent experience which I will certainly be going back again for.

It was a very mixed experience. The starters were served very quickly however the main took 30min to arrive. The young waiter can barely remember what we ask her for (ex: water, extra bottle of wine, sauces, etc.) We had to repeat it a few times. The food was generally very salty across all dishes. We had to return one of the dishes as it was just impossible to eat due to saltiness. However, the steak and the fish and chips are wonderful. Hence it is a hit-and-miss experience, such a shame!

My friend and I visited the windmill for lunch Friday afternoon and had a really lovely meal. We chose the same from the lunch deal 2 courses for £17.50. Butternut squash soup for starters and Grilled Salmon on a bed of mash with Kale and a delicious sauce for main. Fantastic service. Food was served at a very reasonable time and the restaurant was quite busy. We had been out for a couple of hours walk before hand and this meal finished off our day perfectly

First time dining at The Windmill. Was not disappointed. Food was lovely, staff friendly, cosy restaurant with a roaring log fire. Would highly recommend. Not the cheapest but worth the money.

The food was amazing. The best meal I have had in a long time. Beautifully presented and packed with flavour. Would certainly recommend to all.

Great food but service inadequate, staff forgot to bring drinks then a coffee, had to chase them for the bill.
