The Windham Restaurant is proud to occupy one of Windham’s most significant historical sites. First operated as a farm in 1729, the present Colonial style house was built in 1812 and was extensively restored at the turn of this century. The Windham Restaurant features elements that are rustic, romantic and relaxed, including working fireplaces in our bar and first floor dining area. The decor complements the historic character of the building with a few carefully selected modern elements to create a distinctive dining experience. The atmosphere at The Windham Restaurant is as inviting as the seasonally inspired menus. Dine in one of our intimate rooms with candle-lit tables, enjoy your favorite cocktail at the bar or join us on the patio during the summer months. We pride ourselves on a proven menu and eclectic cocktails!

The Windham Restaurant is a great spot. The rustic building has a ton of character. There is a nice outdoor deck space in addition to the indoor seating and a new indoor/outdoor lounge space is currently being built. The service was great starting with the people at the host/hostess stand, and continued with the wait staff who were friendly and attentive. Our two apps were great, raw oysters and chicken fingers, (I know weird combo), and the spicy scallops and General Tso chicken, broccoli and rice were great. We’ll definitely be back.

We had done some research on restaurants in our target area (Southern NH) for my mothers birthday celebration dinner and settled on The Windham - and am very happy we did! Everything from being seated to dessert (we brought a birthday cake) and in between was great! We liked that the menu had many good options in all categories. All was quite during our meals which is a good sign everything was good, which it was. Due to the quality of menu, service, and food we are planning to inquire if they have dinner on Thanksgiving day! - John

Our food was very good wait service excellent !! Ambiance was nice as well. We have eaten in the other area where tables had low chairs and noise level was terrible. The High top are was much better with less noise. There needs to be a noise cancelling Ceiling of sorts in that other room just a couple full tables and the noise becomes hard to handle.

The Windham Restaurant just keeps getting better!! We had an amazing meal, Spicy Korean Scallops with Mango, Chicken Parm with Spaghetti Squash which is hard to find in a restaurant and Steak Tips. The Martinis were also excellent! Jacob was a wonderful server who made some recommendations and was very attentive. This restaurant will definitely continue to be on the top of our list!

We sat in the sunroom. It was bery hot and uncomfortable. Just before we were leaving, someone came and turned on the fans s d lowered the temp on the mini split. It never occurred to us that they were already doing what they coukd to cool the room.

Please avoid this restaurant. I went there to celebrate a birthday. The room was so incredibly noisy we literally had to yell at the top of our lungs to even speak. My mom, who's birthday it was could not hear our server at all when she took our order and the server didn't even try to come to her side of the table to help. So I had to yell to my mom what the server was saying. We had made reseverations for a nice birthday night out and the server said all she could do was a high top table for us to move to. Even though they have outdoor seating... The night started with the server letting us sit there for a good amount of time before bringing water, and then left us again. We saw our drinks that we had ordered sitting at the bar so long that I almost got up to get them. After another good amount of time she finally brought them over (after we already had our appetizer!). By the time the food came out it was cold, the broccoli was undercooked and the ribeye my mom ordered had gristle running through out it so that was worthless. The rest of our food at the table was lack luster and also barely warm. When I asked for the check I ordered one more round of drinks because with it I knew it would take forever to get our check. I was right, the bartender ended up bringing over our drinks because they sat there for so long, and we still had to wait for the check. We had no opportunity to ask for a manager because our server was barely there, and at this point the night was ruined and we wanted to leave as quickly as possible. I spent $197 (before my 5% tip) for terrible meals, a non existent server, and an environment that was so noisy we could not talk. Noise dampening products & hiring attentive staff would help greatly. This restaurant used to be very good, and I hope they can return to that level some day.

The lack of service on this occassion is completely unacceptable and we will be pursuing a staffing change. The server should have moved the party to another dining room or outdoors which were all options. We have been also been working on the acoustics issue which is a challenge in an 1812 building. We had sprayfoam injected into the walls to absorb sound and are awaiting acoustic panels to be installed. We strive to provide quality food and service and I personally reached out to this customer to correct this issue. -Sahal, Owner

2nd time here. Outstanding all around. Made reservations but had to change the time slightly. We were initially seated at a table that we did not prefer. So the staff changed our seats to a much better table in one of the other rooms. Service could not have been better. There were 4 of us and no one was disappointed at all with the food ordered. In fact just the opposite - we all loved everything we ordered from the salad, warm bread, entrees and dessert. We will be going again!
