The Willard Rooftop Lounge, Raleigh's Best Rooftop Bar of 2022 & 2023, offers signature craft cocktails and inspired bites with stunning views of downtown Raleigh.

The centerpiece of The Willard is the Large Terrace with panoramic views of the Raleigh skyline and dual-sided fireplace surrounded by comfortable, yet modern, seating. Heaters make our outdoor spaces comfortable year-round. Inside, a 22-seat bar is the focal point of the dining room, while Skyview Boardroom offers a unique dining experience for 6-12 guests.

The Willard’s cocktail menu playfully leans into Raleigh’s nickname as the City of Oaks, offering signature craft cocktails aged in oak barrels and cocktails where smoke is a key ingredient.

The seasonal food menu, crafted by Chef Kyle Teears, includes shareables like papas bravas and charcuterie, as well as salads, Flatbreads, and entrees like Cherokee Trout and Steak Frites.
Located on the 7th floor of the AC Hotel Raleigh Downtown in the Glenwood South district.

This year, The Willard is thrilled to join other Raleigh establishments in the festivities with our own unique Negroni creations. From September 16th to 22nd, savor our limited-edition Negronis: Blackberry Basil Negroni: A refreshing twist on the classic, featuring Blackberry-Basil-Cucumber infused gin, Bianco Vermouth, and Dry Vermouth. Coffee Negroni: A bold and flavorful combination of gin, Campari, and coffee-brewed Antica Sweet Vermouth.
Swift Night Out at The Willard

Join us in our Horizon Ballroom at 6:00pm for a program given by John Gerwin, Research Curator of Ornithology at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences and Wake Audubon board member. John will spend about 45 minutes discussing these fascinating birds that breed and roost in chimneys in eastern North America before migrating to a small section of the western Amazon region. Afterwards, grab an avian-themed drink from The Willard bar and join members of Wake Audubon on the terrace around 7:30 pm to hopefully witness chimney swifts in action as they begin to swarm and swirl through the sky. (No guarantees that we’ll actually see the birds – nature is fickle – but we saw many swarms from the rooftop in 2023.) This event is free and open to all.

Put on your favorite autumn attire and get inspired to up your cocktail game as you gather around the bar on Saturday, September 28. Our skilled bartenders will demonstrate how to make three delicious autumn-inspired drinks, and then you’ll get to enjoy the fruits of your labor paired with food from our very own Chef Kyle Tears, all while you take in the spectacular views from The Willard Rooftop. Class sizes are limited so purchase tickets now for $55 per person, plus tax and gratuity. We are unable to accommodate dietary restrictions at this event.

Join Raleigh Astronomy Club for views of the starry skies from the rooftop of The Willard on Wednesday, October 30 from 8-10pm. RAC will have telescopes and hobby astronomers on hand to guide your stargazing. RAC will be happy to answer your questions, and The Willard will offer celestial-inspired cocktail specials for you to enjoy while you take in the skies. This event is free and open to the public. Reservations are not needed to participate in the Experience. All are welcome.

Bar staff amazing and chef’s food delicious not quite enough food for matching three cocktails though. No available servers after the event as hostess stand stated they were short staffed. Will return for a full dining experience as food was delicious

My wife and I enjoyed a great lunch with great customer service. Everyone was super friendly, I really enjoyed the signature margarita. Both of us really liked the steak tartare and I definitely want to go back right away

We actually were running a little bit late from our reservation. The kitchen I think closed at 10:45. We go there at that time but we called a head of time letting them know. They still took our orders and was very nice. We even left our table to take pictures out side and they brought our drinks over so they wouldn’t be left unattended.

First time dining there with a few friends to celebrate a friends birthday . Make sure to grab a bottle of wine and order all there appetizers! Appetizers were fantastic!

Good food and good menu for a hotel who tries to serve many pallets. We are veg/pescatarians, so the waiter Nick recommended the bourbon shrimp and papas bravas. Overall, it’s a great view of Raleigh with lovely ambience, outdoors, and inside, so I guess the prices /value were worth the ambience.

The service was ok bordering on the insisting and rushing for us to order. The food was ok, the old-fashioned was watered down, and the other cocktails we tried were a little better.

Staff was excellent, and the cocktails outstanding. My hubby's hamburger was good - a little overcooked - he wished he had asked for medium rare. My goat cheese salad with shrimp was excellent. Our friend was celebrating his birthday, and they brought him a chocolate dessert, which was thoughtful. The charcuterie plate was exceptionally nice, and perfect amount for four people.

Great ambience, good drinks. We had one order wrong and they replaced it, still wrong but we excepted. The waiter was busy, maybe under staffed? Food was good.

The bartender team does a fantastic job of making craft Cocktails and also providing an experience. The chef food is delicious and pairs well with the drinks. The only thing missing is a dj to add to the overall vibe of the beautiful rooftop decor.
