    The White Pheasant had been recommended to us by friends who had been a few weeks previously. We were shown to our table by a very polite waitress and decided to have the carvery. There was a choice of 4 meats and we all chose turkey, which was cooked to perfection. There was a wide range of vegetables to choose from and they were all delicious. To follow, we had dessert. There was a great variety on offer, so much so that my daughter and I had difficulty making our minds up. My husband and son in law had black forest gateaux and my daughter and I eventually chose honeycomb cheesecake and lemon meringue pie. All our desserts were fabulous. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the staff were discreet and attentive. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals here.

    As maney others have already alluded to, the facilities need a little TLC, but the food, staff and location are excellent. I would certainly recomend The White Pheasent and we will be back. Thank you

    The food was delicious .. service was amazing .. could do with a little tlc. The owner did say they were working really hard on this, as they didn’t take it over till the second lock down. I wish them every success and we will certainly be returning in the very near future.

    Good value for money. Plenty of choice on the menu and portion sizes are reasonable.

    This is such a fantastic spot, near the river. It's such a shame it's in urgent need of updating and painting The food was good, and the choice of desserts was excellent

    The white pheasant is a bit run down and could do with a bit of tlc, but don't let this stop you. Breakfast was fantastic, complete with a huge pot of tea and friendly staff.

    Really quaint place, lovely surroundings, beautiful building, friendly staff, really lovely food and excellent value for money. Really cosy. Will definitely be come back

    The appearance of the building outside and then inside was in need of quite a lot of TLC. The staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. The food was excellent and we would definitely go for a meal again. On the downside there were a number of building/construction workers dining and the language was very colourful - the manager of the restaurant apologised to me - I made light of it but it let the place down.
