The White Oak is a contemporary Michelin rated pub and restaurant in the heart of Cookham in Berkshire.

Taking hospitality back to it's roots with a warm welcome from our genuinely friendly team, gastronomic experiences showcasing outstanding suppliers and produce but most of all – to enjoy our great quality menu, simply prepared.

The White Oak prides itself on offering a diverse selection of wines, beers, cask ales and ciders. Our carefully selected wine list offers an accessible range of bottles to suit all tastes and dishes and don't worry if you are driving, we have an extensive lo and no alcohol list too.

There is a large garden and terrace which is covered and has heaters, with dining pods for the perfect unique dining experience. There is ample parking and dogs are very welcome in the bar.

A focus on the incredible wines from Tenute Orestiadi, Sicily. A young company that vinifies the best grapes grown on the island: from the Belìce Valley to the slopes of Mount Etna with the aim of tracing routes that unite the people of the Mediterranean. Risotto was amazing! Sunday roast options were a great value with loads of unlimited (and delicious) side dishes. The negative is that tables are only booked for 1.5 hrs and they are very enforcement heavy. We were caught in traffic and thus about 20 min late heard 6 times when they needed the table back…it wasn’t a problem as we couldn’t help being late and were happy to accommodate. I would have preferred being told once and then at the time of (if needed) versus numerous reminders but that’s my opinion…I would come back but probably not on a Sunday.

Lovely Sunday lunch, good food and service. Noise levels were a little high making some conversation difficult but a small issue really

Great food, solid portions and lovely attentive staff. Food is priced well on the whole - Sunday roast you can request as many bottomless sides as required but you get a healthy amount to start. Question marks over the drinks pricing however, £5.50 for diet cokes is a bit OTT for me!

We had a fabulous time at the white oak Cookham. The service, food and drinks were excellent. Very pricey but worth the indulgence

Very disappointing visit compared to previous visits before the change in management (which we hadn't been aware of). Very slow service and not advised of lack of specials menu choices until we ordered our food nearly an hour after we arrived. Steaks were OK but the peppercorn sauce was watery and the chips weren't well cooked. The dessert came in a reasonable time but the sticky toffee pudding wasn't hot (almost cold in the middle) and the sauce was very thin/watery. The food prices were high - as they had been under the previous management - but this was no longer 'fine dining' with good service and didn't merit those prices at all. We won't be coming again.

The service and the meal were superb! The restaurant was very quiet with only a handful of tables for brunch. Staff very attentive and the oysters were excellent.
