Our Chefs bring you the 1652 experience you’ll be sure to remember.

Refining gastro pub food for a lighter enhanced experience put together by our highly skilled team of chefs. Having worked in several award-winning kitchens, our chefs pride themselves of using locally sourced ingredients reducing miles from farm to plate. Gastro pub classics with exciting modern twists.

Should you have any allergens or dietary requirements please speak to your server and we will be more than happy to accommodate and advise. If you would like to speak to a member of our team about your requirements before you visit, please call us on 01270 587 011.

Our pub opening hours are 12pm to 11pm Monday to Sunday with food served from noon each day until 9pm Monday to Saturday and until 7pm on Sundays.

Lovely setting, we were sat in a table up the steps. Food was fabulous, nice quality and generous portions. Drinks service was a little slow, maybe because of a large party in the function room. Food service was also a little slow but well worth the wait. Would be nice to have more premium lagers on the drinks menu. Nicely decorated but needs some background music which apparently they are looking to improve. Would return again.

We had a great time eating delicious food!! Lovely place to go and relax !!! The waitress couldn’t do enough ! Chicken was cooked beautifully and my mum being a vegan had plenty of choice , her food looked delicious too! We had chocolate brownie which was melt in your mouth! Also a bonus … almond or oat milk available- latte perfect!!!

Lovely night stay with evening meal and breakfast. Food was good and staff were very friendly. Room was nice with lovely bathroom. Would recommend to friends

Are you looking for disappointment? Do you want to be ignored when you walk into a restaurant? Would you like to wait 45 minutes for a meal? Fancy a wet fish and shrivelled up chips? Having spoken to the team, no-one can recall being spoken to on the night about any issues experienced, we could have dealt with this on the night to ensure you left feeling happier with the situation. I am sorry to say it was the worst Sunday roast I have ever paid for! The beef was tough, the vegetables were dry and tasteless. It would seem the food had been kept on heat from mid day until we ate at 1800pm This visit will be our last !

Been visiting this venue for lunch with my friend for 10+ years and this was the worst experience we have ever had. We were refused a seat in the restaurant as we were told it was fully booked and were seated in the bar area. This was a blatant lie as few table were taken at the time we arrived and no additional people came into the venue for the two hours we were there. We both ordered the BLT which was dry and poorly presented. We then ordered pots of tea which were served with dirty cups which we complained and returned to them only to be told it was 'just a bit of staining'. When we come to pay the bill which was expensive at £40 we complained about the issues we had encountered - we were met with apathy and disdain by the same member of staff who told us the restaurant was fully booked. We will not be returning in a hurry!

We are undergoing internal investigations which include speaking to our Head Chef and looking at re-training all FOH staff and do hope that you do re-visit and we can make things right.

6 of us went for Sunday lunch, table was ready in a good spot. We got served drinks quite quickly and had a little wait for the food order to be delivered. The Sunday roast was delicious and a good choice on offer. Most importantly the food was hot . Overall a good place to enjoy Sunday lunch.
