The White Lion, which is owned and run by the Holmes family, is a beautifully renovated village pub situated in Niton on the Isle of Wight.
Our aim is to provide fantastic fresh tasty food created with as much local produce as possible, with an elegant and relaxed atmosphere. Our pub has been awarded 1 AA Rosette for outstanding food and service; read more about what our Rosette means below.
Our pub is the perfect place to eat and drink on the Isle of Wight, whether you are wanting a beautifully curated tasting menu, a quick pint of traditional local ale or you simply want to stop by for a hot drink and catch up with friends, we can accommodate you. We offer a family orientated and dog friendly pub with a small children's play area to keep them entertained whilst you can relax and enjoy your time here with us.

I like eating at The White Lion but last Sunday had a roast lunch with my son and the lamb was a bit disappointing. More fat and gristle than meat.

Wants to be better than it is. Seared Scallops with chorizo sausage turned out to be 3 queenie Scallops (non seared - ie bland), some bits of chorizo and 2 pea shoots. Liver and bacon. Dry, overcooked liver. Flabby bacon. Cauliflower cheese was watery.

Was very disappointed with the menu choices, have been here before when the menu was more than just bog standard pub menu and now it's very limited choice pub menu. The choice of desserts was also very poor with only 4 choices on a menu board. The staff were very good. We won't be returning here in a hurry.

Popped in for Sunday lunch with our dog. Service was quick and food very tasty. Even the dog got spoilt with treats. Staff very friendly and attentive.

Our first visit to the restaurant: Warm welcome Nice ambience Smart decor Very friendly staff Clean, smart and spacious toilets Sunday roast was very good Small improvement would be to ask/offer sauces - we had to request apple sauce for roast our pork. Overall very enjoyable indeed
