The White Lion is an independent traditional country pub in the beautiful Meon Valley, Hampshire, in the village of Soberton. We have developed a fantastic reputation for delicious locally-sourced food, and popular local Reals Ales from Bowman Brewery in Wallops Wood which is just up the road from us.

Booked for a family birthday, 5 adults and a 10-year old. Food was all lovely, fish sharing starter in particular went down very well and almost all of the Sunday menu was available gluten-free for my mother-in-law which is no the norm! Staff were friendly and helpful and service was quick. Fairly busy but not too noisy, will definitely be back.

Delicious roast dinner with all the trimmings in a lovely setting. Parking is difficult but the pub is wonderful. Great service

Menu had nothing special on it for the prices. Carrot and curry soup was just that liquidised carrot with curry powder added.

Every item we chose was beautifully prepared and presented; the welcome felt sincere and service was timely and efficient, professional and unobtrusive. The only improvement might be to have a little more salad garnish with the (otherwise superb) seafood sharing platter starter and a slightly larger piece of (delicious) focaccia with the (also delicious) saganaki prawn main. Regretfully, we did not have room for dessert!

Always good food and a reasonable price, service is friendly and the staff are always very welcoming. Our favourite place to visit when out walking.

The menu was safe, allergies were thoughtfully considered. We all chose differently and were all pleased with the dishes we were served. Service was jolly and fun

Waitress laugh was a tad to loud, almost a shrill. But other than that all the guest on our table said it was a lovely place with great food

Visiting from Canada and went the the White Lion for Sunday lunch. Great food, great service will definitely return next time we are over!

Dinner and service was great, and, although we all had 'Pie of the Day', which was lovely, the menu choice was good. Our only problem was lack of parking, which, at 18:00 on a Wednesday evening was unexpected. That said, it took nothing away from a very pleasant early evening.
