Got a table at 6:45 on a Sunday - ordered Sunday roast dinner to be told they had run out - half an hour later people were getting a roast dinner

Good value for money and friendly service. Both enjoyed our roast dinners and would definitely recommend. We'll be back! 😃

Lovely evening, staff were helpful and friendly and food was good. There is a nice atmosphere with pleasant surroundings.

Booked through open table, although arrived & not booked in ? Which was extremely off putting luckily they managed to find us a table. Was wishing I had booked it direct. However having a booking reference did help . However did put off my experience & felt had to rush not good when spent £95 for meal

Food was okay. Ordered a veggie burger, came in a ciabatta bun cut in two. Very odd. Chips were nice. Service to a table next to us was very obviously blagging to the customer that they can’t do certain foods and the Christmas tree was falling to bits. Good for lunch maybe good booze.

A friendly, relaxed place to dine. Lovely, cosy fires, a great menu and attentive staff.

Disappointed that the booking via your website had failed to record at The White Lion so we were initially told we would have to wait a half hour; then they found a table. A pint of Pedigree ale was lacking in taste (? freshness) and I challenged whether it was Pedigree. The waiter was most helpful in checking this for me. I could only rate the food as average.

I have to say I was a little concerned after I had booked having read some of the reviews on Tripadvisor However my concerns were totally unfounded ! We arrived at 17.00 hrs for an early dinner booking On offer was a fixed price 2 or 3 course menu, although there were some excellent choices on the fixed price menu my daughter and I chose to eat from the main menu . We were attended to immediately with drinks and orders for starters were taken within 10 mins of sitting down Staff were attentive and very friendly without being overbearing Starters arrived within 15 mins well cooked and presented piping hot and tasted amazing we were both blown away by the standard of the food I am a big foodie and a qualified fine dining chef with 40 years experience. Main courses were delicious and I couldn't fault the food in any way even though I can be very fussy and over critical . Unfortunately there was no room for desert as we were both full I'm not sure where all the negative reviews come from as we thought the whole experience was wonderful and although a little pricey for pub food we didn't mind at all as the food was of a very high standard We will definitely be re visiting andcwe are already planning to have lunch there on Christmas Day
