    The coating to my crabcakes starter was too firm and solid. My knife was not sharp enough to cut the roast beef. The accompanying vegetables were fairly tasteless and the roast potatoes were poor. They needed at least another 20 minutes in a 200°C oven to crisp them up. As it was, they were soggy. The Yorkshire pudding was very good. My partner’s sea bass was “delicious”. Apart from a waitress who is under the impression that a bare, pierced navel at around the diner’s eye level is appropriate, the service was excellent.

    I'm happy to say the main courses were very nice, the chicken pie was very nice. What let the meal down was the dessert. The Chocolate Brownie with ice cream was miniscule, a childs portion, £6.50 I wouldn't bother with a dessert if I go back.

    It was a late booking for 5 but they accommodated us well lovely big table, quiet restaurant, excellent Sunday lunch
