Live Jazz at the Whitby Bar is returning every Friday night from 6pm to 9pm. Enjoy classic Negroni cocktails as you listen to live jazz music from The Sam Taylor Trio.

For our Afternoon Tea service, please book via Open Table through the EXPERIENCE option. To confirm your afternoon tea reservation, we require a credit card for our cancellation policy. Should you cancel within 24 hours of the booking, a $50/pp cancellation fee will incur.

The Whitby Bar and Restaurant, inside The Whitby Hotel located in the heart of upper Midtown, offers modern American food in a uniquely eclectic setting. Open daily for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner.

Join us at The Whitby Bar for a delicious Afternoon Tea served in the colorful restaurant or the elegant Orangery. Served on Kit Kemp's beautiful Sailor's Farewell Wedgwood china, enjoy delectable finger sandwiches, including smoked salmon mousse, Egg salad & Truffles, selection of mouthwatering cakes and homemade scones with clotted cream and preserves. $75 per person or $95 including a glass of Joseph Perrier. Afternoon Tea service reservations are booked through the experience. We ask you to cancel your reservation by 10pm the day prior. We have a 5 minute grace period in case you are running late. Please call 646-928-4207 If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions. Special requests must be submitted at least 24 hours in advance.

Join us for New Year’s Eve and savour elegant dishes accompanied by live jazz from the Sam Taylor Trio. Start with Petrossian caviar or Maitake toast amuse-bouche, then choose an indulgent starter including freshly shucked oysters or our Wagyu beef tartare with pommes roti and black Périgord truffle, followed by seasonal specials including 1.5 lb Lemon butter poached lobster with parsnip puree and Bloomsdale spinach or Rocky mountain rack of lamb with haricots verts and gratin dauphinoise. Enjoy a delicious dessert then wind down with coffee, tea and petit fours. Raise your glass of Bollinger Brut Special Cuvée at 12am as we welcome the New Year together! The price does not include tax or a 20% gratuity.

Fabulous experience. Just lovely and festive for the holidays. Great service, did not rush us in any way. Food was delicious and very very filling. Tea was wonderful. We really enjoyed the experience, highly, highly recommend.

We had a beautiful tea at The Whitby once our food finally arrived - about 40 minutes after we ordered it. We weren’t alone. We overhead another diner at a different table complain that it took a full hour for her food to arrive. We enjoyed the food and tea, but the kitchen and service team have some operational issues to work out.

We had our first afternoon tea today at The Whitby to celebrate a friend's birthday. The guest of honor had special dietary restrictions. The preparation and attention to details was first class. Raffaele was our waiter and he was extremely attentive. We will certainly return. A lovely and eclectic setting.
