Live Jazz at the Whitby Bar is returning every Friday night from 6pm to 9pm. Enjoy classic Negroni cocktails as you listen to live jazz music from The Sam Taylor Trio.

For our Afternoon Tea service, please book via Open Table through the EXPERIENCE option. To confirm your afternoon tea reservation, we require a credit card for our cancellation policy. Should you cancel within 24 hours of the booking, a $50/pp cancellation fee will incur.

The Whitby Bar and Restaurant, inside The Whitby Hotel located in the heart of upper Midtown, offers modern American food in a uniquely eclectic setting. Open daily for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner.

Join us at The Whitby Bar for a delicious Afternoon Tea served in the colorful restaurant or the elegant Orangery. Served on Kit Kemp's beautiful Sailor's Farewell Wedgwood china, enjoy delectable finger sandwiches, including smoked salmon mousse, Egg salad & Truffles, selection of mouthwatering cakes and homemade scones with clotted cream and preserves. $75 per person or $95 including a glass of Joseph Perrier. Afternoon Tea service reservations are booked through the experience. We ask you to cancel your reservation by 10pm the day prior. We have a 5 minute grace period in case you are running late. Please call 646-928-4207 If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions. Special requests must be submitted at least 24 hours in advance.

This afternoon tea is one of my favorites. There’s so much food that I usually end up taking some home. Everything is delicious. The restaurant is beautiful and the service is exceptional. They really.cater to my needs.

Loved our tea experience a year ago and decided to return. Disappointed to find the per person price was increased by $20/per person making it less desirable than before. Kind, adequate server, but we were dismayed to be charged an extra $20 for two extra finger sandwiches since my friend did not eat the egg ones. We insisted they remove that charge since there was no warning and, to be fair, they did. Honestly, I have never been charged for an extra tidbit in a tea service, so it dampened the experience somewhat. Just goes along with the feeling that, especially in NY, we are being nickel-and-dimed for what used to courtesies. However, the food was very nice and the atmosphere was lovely, but not sure about returning given these prices and policies.

Always a favorite for breakfast in NYC! Ambience is light and airy - traditional but not heavy or stuffy. Great food and great service

Host staff was super accommodating when my reservation for 4 turned into a last minute party of 6. The wait staff was extremely nice in making small bites recommendations and were very attentive with refilling waters and other drinks. The experience was top notch and I would go back again for a business drink/meal.

Experience turned out to be lovely, however a bit of a rocky start as I was seated for 20 minutes before being waited on or even poured water. Contemplated getting up and leaving.

We had the most enjoyable High Tea experience. the service was outstanding, the ambience was beautiful, and the tea was served in the most beautiful tea pots. The scones are my favorite of the food. We can’t wait to go back for the lunch menu
