Was very excited to come here to celebrate a friends birthday for dinner. Had reservations at 730, checked in at 715, and were not seated until 8:45. Service was dodgy at best, with our waiter leaving mid sentence to go to another table. Food was solid, but portions are so small that it’s hard to share any plate- literally 1-2 bites per person. Overall had high expectations, but the mixed reviews are realistic. Not sure if I would come back again, if I were it would be to just enjoy a cocktail (which were great and bartenders were great while we waited 75 minutes at the bar). Hoping this place can get better.

Very nice, very good food. Very, very limited menu and no beer choices - they only serve 1 beer. So, a great place for lunch or Happy Hour but I would not come here for dinner due to the very odd and limited menu items. Odd meaning not many usual suspects e.g. duck meatballs but not fish tacos,, etc. We love this hotel and would return here to have drinks: great service, atmosphere, tasty food; we were just surprised at the lack of choices for a tourist area bar.

Really amazing food. Really cool place. My only negative feedback was the service was a little slow but it wasn’t horrible and overall we had a great time. We’ll definitely be going back.

Love this place. The drinks are perfectly crafted and food is unique, fun, and delicious without being over pretentious. The price point is a little high but you really get what you pay for. I can not wait to go back!

What a Fun Dining Experience !! Loved the old Whaling Bar and the stories my Older friends told . However Times Change! Im glad the Famous Wing Howard murals were reused!! The Lobster Rolls and Ceasar Salad were Great!! The service was good!!

I took my family of five for dinner and drinks, and we all enjoyed the meal. The highlight for me were the meatballs and the hamburger dessert. I highly recommend this place. The espresso martini was wonderfully creamy.

The drinks were good and service was amazing! Our waitress was very kind and attentive. The thing was that it was boiling hot inside, it was a warm evening and the the open kitchen hen plan meant we were all sweating while sitting there, it was much cooler outside! Why no ac or fans?

The whaling bar was excellent - our drinks were solid (but with er La Jolla prices), the food was really delicious - kale salad and grilled beans have no business being so tasty and the scallops and chicken (!) were delicious too. Fun to sit outside and watch people stroll by, the inside was rather too loud for my old ears…
