Water Wheel Tavern is an historic Bucks County landmark originally built in 1714 by John Dyer, an English Quaker. It existed for centuries as a water wheel driven grist mill, and later hosted both a post office and a general store. The mill was transformed into an inn and tavern with the repeal of prohibition in 1933.

Now, after an extensive industrial chic renovation, we invite you to experience our comfortable ambiance, diverse menu and hard working professional staff!

Nice selection on the menu. Nice ambiance. Had the French dip. Didn’t love the Au jus. Strong and kind of bitter.

We had a lovely brunch at the Waterwheel Tavern this past weekend. The entire staff was warm and friendly - all smiling and really just pleasant (which seems to be getting rare these days!) - This was actually our first visit since moving to the area, and we were certainly pleased with the brunch offering - now we need to come try the dinner menu! We'll definitely be back soon.

Steak au Frites was a disappointment. Tough chewing and not especially tasty or tender. Accompanying French fries were not served hot. Given the cost, one might expect a better quality of beef. The ambiance does not support the high prices and the drinks were $18 premium.

Everything was fabulous! I had the French Dip which was on crusty French bread and a large cup of au jus was served with it. My daughter’s mushroom Swiss burger was done to perfection! Only downside was that the restrooms were located downstairs. An ADA compliant ramp was outside allowing entry into the restaurant though.

Our server, Katie, remembered us from a previous visit and even knew what we were drinking! She is delightful! Regarding drinking…..Pat, the bartender made a fabulous Mojito! We always feel like we’re going home when we visit WW!
