We had a really lovely experience at The Waterfront, Hythe. It was our first time attending in the evening and there was such a wide choice on the menu that evening our ‘fussy eater’ was happy. The ambiance was warm and welcoming. The staff were extremely helpful and were attentive without being intrusive throughout our visit. The food was beautifully presented. Although we were actually jealous each time another plate went out to other customers. We have already booked a return visit. If we had to find a single fault it would be that the chatter from customers occasionally drowned out the sound of the performer as they sang a wonderful selection of Motown and contemporary songs.

We went for the Friday evening Motown night but did not rate the singer at all! His Mike turned down very low so you could only hear the backing track and little of his voice! Preferred the Michael Bublee evening last time much more of a showman and great voice. Food okay but only fish choices on the specials menu. Shame because a lovely venue and attentive and friendly staff.

Very nice food with a reasonable menu choice. Service was generally very good however the waiter knocked a glass over breaking it and seemed as if he was in a bit of a rush with everything that he did. However we did give him a decent tip Waiting time for food was just right and we didn’t feel as we were being rushed at anytime. Prices were a bit high (£45 for a bottle of Chardonnay) we felt.

Amazing food, superb service. Only negative point was the entire restaurant smelt of ‘fried food’ and as a consequence so did we when we left 🤷‍♀️

We received a warm welcome when we arrived and shown to our table, service throughout was not rushed and always delivered with a smile. We could not fault the meal, the portion sizes were adequate, food arrived at the table well presented and the flavours were not too overwhelming. The restaurant was not too busy, the ambiance was wonderful, there was music playing and not too loudly, lots of items decorating the restaurant without looking cluttered and subtle mood lighting, great setting looking out over the beach and sea. Prices were on par with similar restaurants, although the only one criticism was the price of the fish cake starter, as tasty as it was, at £12 we thought a bit steep. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant, would definitely visit again, unfortunately we live to far away.

Brilliant all round , but service got very sketchy around 5pm which i assumed was because if change of staff shifts.

On a wet and windy Sunday it was a joy to escape the weather with a wonderful lunch at the Waterfront. Serenaded by a great voice, at just the right volume, the ambience was warm and welcoming. We had some splendid crab as well as the supreme of chicken - both as good as ever. We shared a pudding (apple and cherry!) which again was excellent. All in all a great lunch though and look forward to returning soon.
