Yesterday, I had an amazing time at The Warehouse, reconnecting with friends I hadn’t seen in a while . The atmosphere and décor immediately stood out—iconic and deeply reflective of the DMV, while embracing the warmth of Southern culture. It felt like stepping into a true potluck gathering. The service was excellent; each server was assertive yet professional, ensuring everything was just right. I ordered a classic Sidecar cocktail, and it was perfectly made. Our table was filled with a variety of dishes—oysters, salad, brunch items, and creamy grits—all of which gave me a comforting sense of home. The Warehouse truly delivered an unforgettable experience.

I will never go to the Warehouse again on Christmas Eve! It was the worst Christmas Eve dinner experience we have ever had in Old Town Alexandria. The Warehouse is one of our favorite restaurants. Until Christmas Eve we have never had a bad experience. The restaurant overbooked. When we arrived for our 7:15 reservation, you could barely get in the door. Wall to wall people waiting for tables. We were finally seated around 7:50. Our waiter seemed very stressed. He came over almost immediately to see what we wanted to drink. He wasn’t even aware that we didn’t have menus. When he came back with menus, he advised us to hurry up & order our food as the kitchen was backed up & it would take at least 30 minutes to get food. We ordered drinks & food at same time. Food arrived much quicker than we thought. Appetizer was brought out in timely fashion. Calamari appetizer was excellent. My husband ordered soup & a dinner salad. He never received his soup. I had the trout which was excellent. The lobster & pork dishes of our guests were also good, not great as the food is normally. I ordered a glass of wine when the meal was brought. I was almost finished my meal& still no wine. I was finally able to get the attention of our waiter who was anything but attentive to bring the wine. We were so excited to have our guests experience the Warehouse. The experience left much to be desired & was very disappointing.

The gumbo was underseasoned and I ordered the fried catfish which was delicious and seasoned but my mashed potatoes were cold. I requested hot fries and they came quickly.

Second time I’ve been here. First time with my dad (3 yrs ago?) for brunch and service was terrible. Gave it another shot this evening with my friend for her birthday and same experience which is unfortunate because the establishment itself is darling and the menu looks great. We ended up leaving after our salads because the service was so bad so didnt even get a chance to order dinner. For how pricey this place is, I would’ve hoped for better service.
