The crab cakes were meaty, not much filler but on the smaller side. The hushpuppies were a bit sweet for me. It would have been nice if a splash of color was added to the mashed potatoes and crab cake plate. Sitting next to the window was nice, nice vibe! The person waiting on us must have been new…. the not so great lemonade came close to 20 minutes or so after our arrival. Our wait staff did offer to change it to the strawberry lemonade which was better. Not bad prices.

We have been to Walrus before and really liked it. The this time the app was crab dip, and wayyyyy over lemoned and cold because we had been waiting for it for about 20 minutes. We kept searching for our waitress to get more bread once we got it- decent sized bowl of dip with 4 pieces of bread- and she never came to check on us. No bread. Or drink refills. Or anything. Then dinner came but was missing 2 sides. The sides came just about when we were finished with dinner. And we were there for a total of about 90-100 minutes. The service took forever. No attempt was made to apologize. Our waitress actually blamed the kitchen for the delay in sides and then shrugged. It was pretty terrible for the overly expensive price. My son was visiting home from college and this was a big disappointment for taking him out to dinner… especially when the restaurant was only about 2/3 full.

The food was quite good and the atmosphere was very nice, but the service—sad to say—was terrible. Simple requests (water, beverages) took far too long. Our meals as well, and when they did come, only two of three were delivered. The staff was constantly apologizing to diners. Seemed as though the wait staff and kitchen were overwhelmed, although the restaurant was only moderately busy.

I have a mixed review. I was part of a group of 6 people for lunch. The restaurant was very welcoming and a table was ready for my group. The server was friendly. Their advertised $17.99 lunch special had a few gotchas. A Caesar Salad selection would have you spend an additional $10 to get a small (not even a whole) chicken breast added to the salad. The special was to have included with a soup (or salad) but we had to ask the server about it. Turns out: the clam chowder was the only soup available; and it was VERY good. The salad greens were very fresh and plentiful; but the amount of chicken was not commensurate. We all appreciated that the server accommodated separate checks! My experience was positive--with minor misgivings. I would go there again, but with a little more awareness.

We had a great experience at the Walrus Oyster and Ale House. Everything we ordered was delicious. Fresh raw oysters and the restaurant menu selections were plentiful and very much worth the price. The lobster roll was packed with large lumps of lobster. The oyster Rockefeller is a must try. Sylvan our server was the best. He is informative of the menus, attentive and super friendly. We highly recommend this restaurant and will be returning very soon.

Oysters were quite good. The garden salad was terrible and had to be returned. Service was great.

This restaurant was a nice surprise. We had the lobster roll, crab cakes, oysters rockerfeller, bruschetta, asparagus, hush puppies and key lime pie. EVERYTHING was delicious!

Always a great time, whether on a date or with a group. From the time you step into the door, to the time you walk out, the hospitality and customer service is high quality. The oyster bar is an absolute must.
