We were a bit put off by the crowd of drinkers and smokers gathered outside but did not let that keep us from going in. The ambience is "neighbor hood pub" but the food was first class. The service was a bit inconsistent, but I suspect that was because the normal dinner waitstaff had not started yet as the service improved when the personnel changed. Overall, this is a great find and a good combination of local color and exceptional food.

Brenda and Brendan from Australia thoroughly enjoyed our food, the amazing chicken Sunday roast for dinner last night . We had just finished the hop on and off tour so really enjoyed the icy cold lager on our arrival . Thanks to our daughter , Danielle for recommending this great venue . Great pub, nice restaurant upstairs with a good vibe. Food was generally very good although the tuna salad nicoise was a little too plain and without olives although written on menu. The Tuna itself was excellent nevertheless and burger was faultless.

The ambience is great and the service was terrific. We had the Sunday roast and both the beef and the lamb were on the tough side. I think they could benefit from better quality meat. Otherwise it was fun.

Lovely atmosphere and decor. Comfy seating. Food was sub-par for a Sunday roast. Potatoes and Yorkshire pudding had no flavour. Beef was average. I would go back for drinks in the beautiful upstairs, but not the food.
